Tefal Actifry - Great if you like mashed chips and only want it to last a few months

Had mine for over a year - no issues. Great piece of kit

No issues with ours we've had it years - great product and no mashed chips.

Hot from me, Ive had one of these for ages, use it at least once a day

philips air fryer better actifry do not last waste of money

Who needs this when you have aunt Bessie's oven chips

got one today. take 3 years instant replacement for an extra £20 and use o2 £10 0ff £100
Good Deal

these are great. ours has lasted over 2 years! sliced sweet potatos with olive oil and garlic puree is amazing in it.

Ours was great but build quality is. Poor. Wouldn't have another. Paddle broke twice in 18 months. Then the fan failed, so had to bin it. After reading so many reports about them setting on fire, wouldn't have another.

If you shop at Tesco it is £99.99 but you can use Clubcard double up effectively getting it for 50

brilliant .. gift for my dad

Had 2 within space of 6 months, 1st one heater element went replaced no problem, replacement item motor went after 3 weeks used approx 10 times. Shame as when working we loved it.

Actually, the one thing they're really great at is cooking oven chips and making almost as nice as proper chips. I know they can do "proper" chips with fresh potatoes and all that, but it's a massive PITA and the oven ones come out much nicer than they do out of the oven. We love ours. However...

I voted cold. The build quality is atrocious for such an expensive product. I can only recommend buying it in places that will honour returns beyond the warranty time for defective products. Bought ours at Costco for that reason.

Excellent product!! Had mine over a year now without a single issue, it's used regularly too! Unbelievable to think that this is a good deal though as I paid £89.99 14 months ago from Amazon.

Thanks for the heat and comments.

Not used mine yet.

I took out the 3yr warranty for £20 given the extensive hammering things like this take, which also lets you use o2 priority offer too apparently (which i didn't know at the time)

This! We *love* our rocket (as we call it) and can cook so many things in it.

Can you make things like falafel and samosas in these types of fryers?

I think this is a gimmick, it doesnt fry in 'air', you have to add a tablespoon of oil. if I'm making chips for example in a standard deep fat fryer and I put them in when the oil is hot, I dont believe they absorb much more than a tablespoon of oil anyway? My fryer cost £10 from Argos.

I use a spray oil with mine.

TBH you can do the same thing if you want to be healthy without an actifry, you just need to par boil the potatoes, spray them, oven, done.

What oil do you all use for basic chips? Veg or SunF or other? Interested to see the most perfect result you managed to get by tweaking too (not twerking)...

Beef dripping is the absolute best IMO, but if im feeling healthy i use crisp and dry

Remember to soak the chips in water and dry them before air frying.

you dont need to dry them, i drain the water and put them in the actifry for 2 mins before adding oil, gets them bone dry

Just bake or pressure cook potatoes and eat. That is the best and healthiest way to heat. By these 1. You are wasting money and spoiling your health in the long run.

Boring !

You are allowed a treat sometimes in your life

Ingredients on crisp & dry says 100% rape seed oil. Save money by buying generic rape seed oil.
