This is a decent iron which has an auto switch-off feature, usually seen in more expensive irons, and it's a bargain at £25 from Tesco Direct, especially as it is still £45 in Tesco stores.
Currently £39.99 in Argos, £39.96 in Asda and £35 on Amazon and it has a 3 metre power cord which is much better than a lot of modern irons have (I just bought a Philips which is sadly going back because the power cord is only 1.9 metres...far too short)
Tesco Clubcard points too, and if you have any current Clubcard vouchers then you could use as part payment!

I have this iron and would say it definitely did not live up to expectations.

Oh dear, why? I looked up reviews on several different sites and it seems to be generally good, but everyone has different experiences.

Recently purchased a high end Tefal iron, not impressed, shall be returning for a Philips or a Bosch, miles better.

Good to hear - I have ordered this but haven't actually used it yet, but judging by the reviews I read I thought it would be good, especially at this price with the cut-off feature. I normally buy Philips but the short cord length on my new one was hopeless and I can't be bothered faffing around with an extension cable. Happy ironing!

Not sure if it's just my model but water leakes. I iron everything except silk on the highest setting on full steam. Anything lower doesn't seem to get creases out. Also the capacity for water doesn't could be better and I have to refill after every 2 tm lewin shirts.

Is this what you have?

I've got this and think it is great. I know other people that don't like it though. It depends on how you use it IMHO. Use it properly and it gets out creases better than my old Philips azure iron and the ironing surface is so much better on this, it just glides!

I agree that it's hard to get excited about an iron, but time is money. This one has all my shirts flat in one pass: amazon.co.uk/Tef…5SS.
I paid around £35, so it could come down again.
But I would pay £40 if anything happened to mine

Collected today and just tried it on a couple of things....very comfortable iron to hold and the way the cable goes through the base makes it easy to handle. Tried on a medium heat item and a hot item - no drips so far and all creases gone. Very happy so far!

Got all excited and decided to order this t o replace my aging Tefal... and it's sold out! :-(

Oh dear....check maybe tomorrow or later this week - maybe they will get more stock in. I don't think the stores will price match to Tesco Direct's price (I asked them to do this once and they said no) but no harm in asking!

EDIT; 30/05 BACK IN STOCK!!!!!!!

My local tesco have got their own brand 2200W Iron on offer for £8, not sure if nationwide and it isnt on the website.
