Pretty much the cheapest this has been, as far as i can see.

The GV7550 Express Easy Steam Generator from Tefal is Simple, Fast and Efficient. With 5.2 bars of pressure, 120 g/min continuous steam and a 220g steam boost it's hard to imagine how this machine could be enhanced but with the added feature of Smart Technology this is easily achievable. Smart Technology provides the optimal balance of steam and heat, essential for achieving a crisp, crease free finish without risking any burning damage to your clothes.

With the introduction of Smart Technology, this steam generator has been designed to save time and remove the hassle from ironing whilst still providing excellent results with just one-touch settings and technology. Tefal innovates with Express Easy by creating a smaller steam generator that allows you to iron all fabrics without any setting for optimal results. Just switch on the appliance and go - with no risk of burning you can iron silk pyjamas after a cotton shirt without adjusting the settings. Ironing couldn't be easier! No more complicated dials and controls and no need to sort out your clothes.

The Ultraglide Diffusion Soleplate is enhanced by the raised lines running across it which ensure excellent heat distribution and reduced surface area resistance. Specially designed to be extremely scratch resistant with a built in anti-drip system and hard wearing properties makes the GV7550 robust and hardwearing. Whilst the vertical steam function is ideal for getting creases out of suits or other hanging garments and can also be used to de-crease curtains.

Other features include, an Auto-off function which will turn off the Steam Generator automatically if left unattended, an energy saving ECO mode, as well as the Easycord system which keeps the cord out of the way whilst ironing. Further to this the GV7550 is conveniently compact, making it ideal for those with limited storage space and the Express easy has a simple to operate control panel which features a temperature ready light as well as alerts for when the water tank needs refilling and the boiler needs descaling.

9.0 out of 10 @ reevo
plus, for the price - EVEN if it only lasted a year- that's averaging out at a teener per month usage so in that sense, its great.

they last 9 months, trust me

My experience with Tefal customer service is deplorable, especially when buying off internet, they do not validate your warranty. So if buying, you need to go and buy in a shop or department store. Had three of the top of the range Tefals and all broke down before two years. Have a Philips now and even though it is on its last legs (only had this for 2 1/2 years) it is, for me, ultimately superior. Having also researched for a new one, the general consensus is that with all of these steam generator irons, are likely to only last for 2/3 years if you are lucky. PS I live in a really heavy hard water area.

Bought for someone else - they live in a very very soft water area so fingers crossed.
Suzie13, surely Tefal aren't allowed the whole non-warranty if bought online palava? Did you let them get away with it?

Samwants2save yes, this woman was the ultimate jobs worth sadly, and would not budge an inch.
