This is steaming hot.

OMG in July 2016 I got "Tefal GV6340 Light and Compact Steam generator Iron, with 2200W - Purple" for
£69.00 from Tesco Direct.
What does the Tefal gv9060go do that my cheapo doesn't.
What happened to your previous Tefal?
I feed mine de-ionised from Euro Car Parts;
The only thing I think might wear out is the pump. I try to delay that by keeping the tank topped up.
I love my Tefal cheapo. The only feature I miss is a cord tidy.
My previous tefal died of hard water scale after 6 years which I now avoid by exclusively using de-ionised.

I separated and wanted to keep the iron but he refused to give it back:) since then I bought Russell Hobbs iron but it makes my clothes all electricy. It doesn’t seem ironing at all(lost the receipt)
I would never thought about being fussy for house electricals before but now thinking the best. I didn’t wanted to buy another iron for £60-70 and left with problems.

We think the "electricy" is due to lack of fabric conditioner in the washing cycle rather than the iron.

However, back to the Tefal ..
if money no problem the Tefal GV8976 Pro Express Total X-Pert Control Steam claiming Which? best buy scoring 82% was posted on here in an expired jl deal; available on Amazon and elsewhere £200+

Me?
I'd get in my time machine and buy

Tefal SV5011 Steam Generator Iron @ ebuyer £59.99 or

Tefal Fasteo SV6020 Steam Generator Iron, Purple/White @John Lewis £64.99

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I never use fabric conditioner. Thanks for the tip. I will try conditioner and see how it goes.

We complete chosen program with NO fabric conditioner.
Then remove flannels, towels, tea cloths, micro fibre cloths & anything else we don't want fabric conditioned.
Then run a "spin + extra rinse" program to fabric condition.
We use essential Waitrose pure fabric conditioner concentrated; 50 standard washes; dermatologically approved.

Silk pillow case, silk blouse, silk scarf etc shouldn't be washed in biological detergent; the enzymes eat away at the silk.
Typically seams etc will slowly disintegrate over time.

For cashmere we use "Belinda Robertson Luxurious Cashmere Wash"; expensive but marvellous.

there was no electric problem (most of my clothes are %100 polyester) ,saved me of buying conditioner.
