One of my best ever purchases, hot from me. But that photo definitely isn't a wok

Is that a proper wok?

These stew, not wok.
I have one and had to go to TK max and buy a proper thin metal one that was able to get smoking hot.

If this got smoking smoking hot the tefal would break apart, spend 12.00 and go to tk max

Woks going on here ?

Used 3 wok in my life; cheap aluminium wok when I was at first year of uni, ruined after 2 weeks, a Tefal 28cm wok that lasted 2 years and now, my trusty cast iron wok that's not missed a toss over the last 3 years.

Wok is all about heating hot, cooking fast for any stir fry, along with the ability to steam, deep fry and dry heat food.

As mentioned by canada16, the smoking heat will break the teflon plastic part, my Tefal lasted that long only because I continued using it after the Teflon layer was gone. I would avoid this is you're looking to use a wok as it should. If you're an occasional stir fry user, then this is fine. A daily user will just wear this out.

Remember to season the wok and never wash the inside of your wok with anything more than hot water and a rough sponge. If done right, your wok will give flavour and naturally have a sheen that's non-stick after 3 months of regular use and set it for life.

Where does this come in the Tefal Range? Everyone seems to have different names for the Tefal range, such as Debenhams calls them simple and superior.

But then Amazon have this:

are Debenhams actually making good on their online offers now or cancelling as they were a while ago ?

better "than", seojoe.

great

My advice is to do what I did and buy a proper takeaway / restaurant wok, I recommend Hancock London woks which you can get from trade shops / eBay. Carbon steel woks that you season yourself, and give brilliant results.

I've never known anyone able to get restaurant style results from non-stick woks, as has been said above I don't think they can reach the temperatures required without damage.

got one today from Asda Clapham junction.
also pan 26" for £10

Tk max have these sometimes for a similar price

Thanks OP!
