That is brilliant! Heat just for the introduction to a egg-ceptional invention (apologies )
Not impressed with this. Toast takes bloody ages and the eggs are nothing to write home about. Plus it gets all messy and is a pain to clean.
reviews are very good normally
I have one and it's very good until the egg holder becomes non-slip and the egg doesn't come out even with a bit of oil. Asked tefal for a replacement holder and they wanted £25. Otherwise good product.
Pretty slow as a toaster. Ive had mine for about a year and now I usually have to put the toast down twice. Very handy for doing eggs for the kids, but they are rarely "dippy" :-(
Had one of these, and was a fantastic little device. Really easy to clean, and made some wicked poached eggs.
Unfortunately the toasting function broke just after a year of owning it, so it went in the bin. I haven't replaced it, so i guess it wasn't all that
Each to their own I suppose, but what's the big deal about just using a pan to boil an egg? I've been doing that for years and I've never, ever wished for such a gizmo!
thanks m8
whatever next....perhaps a beans on toast version X)

You can cook beans in the little pan actually...
Says 4 slice toaster on the Argos site??? Can only see 2!!
Egg-actly what I've been looking for :-)
when is someone gonna bring out the famous "wallace & gromit breakfast making machine".
i would pay good money for that!

3 yr warranty for £6.99 though which isn't bad.
Best toaster just for egg making handiness! heat added!
Laziness. Why would you want this?
I got silver one from viking direct b4 and very happy with that breakfast monster
Really want an egg poacher. This sounds good but I've already got a toaster which works fine. Doesn't sound like the best idea to have two functions in the one device and if one fails it's buggered. Good price but not for me. I decided to buy a separate egg poacher. Not voted btw.

+1

Just get a £10 toaster and a £2 small frying pan. Much better eggs that way than this monstrosity!
Got one of these and think it is great. The toast does take a while but can't fault the eggs.

The point is it's convenience, the same reason people buy a toaster as you suggest instead of using the grill. Even though I'm a fairly decent cook and although I'm perfectly capably I just wouldn't bother poaching an egg in the morning on a weekday as I'm usually too busy rushing about getting my daughter ready but this makes it dead easy, no mess stick to the pan etc (although if poaching an egg 'manually' I normally use the cling film method which does cut that down). Once you've established how much water to add to get the consistency of poaching you want the eggs taste great too. I've never used it for boiling an egg though as that is just as convenient to chuck a saucepan on the hob but for a decent poached egg in the morning in a hurry without the fuss this is a great gadget. Whilst you can get a toaster for under a tenner a brand name 2 slice toaster (Kenwood, Breville, Russel Hobbs) is £20+ so this isn't much more of a premium for the poaching facility.

Because my kitchen at work doesn't have a hob??

Very tempted if it did 2 eggs (like this one http://www.amazon.com/Back-Basics-TEM4500-Muffin-Toaster/dp/B000QA1224)!!!
