This absolutely needs drilling as I found out and returned around Christmas when it said on the listing that no fixings were required. The end piece surface is smooth plastic with screw holes in, the picture is wrong. Alternatively, here is the one which doesn't need fixings, the ends have a rubber stop and no screw holes, although it isn't on sale:

I have a telescopic one with rubber ends but it keeps falling down after a few weeks. Is there a method to stop them from falling?

I have one too and it never falls down, I find the key is to twist as you extend it, the tighter it gets the more you try to twist and it wedges it tightly. I hope that helps

Mine has fallen down just a couple of times, once from vibrations from work in the next room, second time was just after it had been up a few weeks, I assume it had been worked loose through use. But it has been up for several months straight now. As Ninurta said, try to make sure it is as straight as possible, if it is not level it may work itself loose easier, then push into the walls as hard as you dare (I have wall cladding up, if you pushed with extreme force it might collapse the cladding, but I did use some quite strong force and it held), then twist into the walls. Test the strength with a little force (don't swing from it).

Make sure you read Ninu's instructions of how to put it up properly

aww bex! I'll grab you one later

Brought. Good quality for price not the best instruction manual but I fixed it without screws I used double sided foam tape on ends to give extra grip.then tightened up the bar . seems fine. I like the option of using screws if it becomes loose as the twist fix shower rods with the spring in them always fall down after a while.
