One of THE albums of 1977 for me.
Tom Verlaines guitar work is breathtaking.
Radio Caroline picked up on this upon release, and I remember going to our caravan in Hemsby that year singing ELEVATION,Dont go to my head! loudly and badly walking back(well I was only 18)

Actually it is Richard Lloyd who does most of the lead work on this with Tom playing chords while singing. The guitar solos in the middle are split 60/40 in Tom's favour though. But yes, this is an album every guitar fan should own.
That moment in the title track when it reaches a crescendo and during the tail off the bass and drums kick in - brilliant! A classic album.
My first lp and I still have it. A great album.
Never heard of this before!!!
Worth buying?

If you like 🎸 music I'd say yes go for it. You can probably hear a load on youtube if you wanted to try before buying.
