Heat paid roundabout this price for 4 MW3 from box.co.uk. easy to set up and improved signal. So this deal is even better with the free mw6
Will MW6 master node allow top speeds from Virgin?

MW6 are gigabit, so yes.
I get full 210Mb on my BT Mesh kit on Virgin.

Thanks that’s really helpful
Ordered, cheers been waiting for a MW6 offer
Thanks so much for posting this - just ordered as the standard MW3 wouldn't have been fast enough for my broadband, but is more than fast enough for the endpoints
Does this use a 5g channel for the backbone?
Received this but can't get the MW3's to connect to the MW6... Won't find the MW3's when using the app...

Try a firmware upgrade via the app to download the latest firmware then you can add the mw3’s by scanning the qr codes on them.

Tried it but never get a qr code scanning option, have checked app permissions for camera and are turned on...
Thank you very much, bought it.

I just wonder if they are compatible with each other?

They are:

Q1: Can use MW3 and MW6 together to establish a network?
A: Yes

You go to add nova and it should just kick into scan QR, I’d suggest keep upgrading the MW6 until it says you have the latest version.

Yep, SOLVED! Did uninstall, reset all units re setup and this time asked for camera permissions from the start and made sure I'm logged into an account (easy to setup) then QR option was automatic and super simple! Thanks
can this be use just as a wifi extender? and is there any minimum speed for which this can be used...I am getting about 30 mbps and have a large house with brick walls and 3 storeys. Will this work more than a wifi extender?
Having issues with this. Hope someone can guide me.

I have virgin 100mb broadband and am getting the following wifi results

MW6 alone (master) - 100 - 110mb
MW6 plus MW3 - 10 - 30mb
Speeds also flatuate between tests.

These results are based on me sitting right in front of my router and the MW6. All 4 boxes updated to latest firmwire and also been reset via pinhole and reinstalled with similar results.

Are these devices just not compatible? The MW6 alone is covering 75% of my house at the above speeds but the addition of a MW3 seems to slow it right down...or maybe it's my incompetence! Previously had 3 pack MW3 giving me avarage 60mb but returned that as I needed an extra box for garden shed and this seemed a cracking deal.

Also read somewhere that MW3 causes your phone battery to drain quicker..is that true?

Have tried and failed to connect the MW3 to primary MW6. Tried resetting, updating firmware, uninstalling app, placing units an inch apart, nothing works. Gonna send back unless anyone has a bright idea?

I'm not certain on this but these use the 5ghz WiFi band for the backhaul, so the more nodes and devices the more conjested the frequency is and slower the performance. High end mesh networks have a separate frequency for the backhaul to alleviate this but they also cost hundreds more.

One solution if you can is to run a cable to some of the nodes, the wired backhaul these let you have frees up some of the wireless signal. It could be worth a test if you have an ethernet cable laying about to see if this helps the issue. Just make sure you connect the Lan port on the primary to the Lan port on the secondaries otherwise it doesn't work. I have 2 MW6's set up this way and they work really well.

Thanks for the response. Tenda app says 17 devices in total connected but 7 of them are via my gigabit switch plugged into the MW6.

Also confusing is that MW3 set faster than MW3 plus MW6 setup.

Running cables is not an easy option and one of the reasons I switch from Ubiquity APs.

Might have to just cough up and pay for a triband system but rather dissapointing as I expected this system to cope to the low number of devices I have.

If you have a long cable from your ubiquiti set up just try the wired backhaul very crudely. That will at least tell you that it's definitely the backhaul causing the problems. I'm not sure how it works but a single wired backhaul might be enough to spread the WiFi backhaul issue out, you can plug it in to the switch if that helps at all. It is weird that you've got such difference performance between the MW6 and MW3 set ups. The 100Mb ports on the MW3s should in theory give you worse performance than the gigabit feed on the MW6. My pair of MW6's was coping with 10 devices at 200Mb before I got the wired backhaul working properly.
Hi, got a set of these delivered today and all set up fine until TVNOW Smart Stick rebooted. It was initially working fine but after reboot was frozen with no remote working.

Having shut the mesh down I realised that the TVNOW stick had connected to the old router on 5G but the Tenda on 2.4G after reboot. Shutting the router and rebooting the Tenda it then joined on 5G and the remote operates fine.

I searched for TVNOW remote connection problems and found this help.nowtv.com/art…ing . I have not confirmed that the "hidden" pairing button, that I had certainly never noticed in over a year, solves the whole problem but thought I''d share ASAP. Hope it helps, I will post on other Tenda deal as well.
