Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines starts in high gear and never slows down. The apocalyptic "Judgment Day" of T2 was never prevented, only postponed: John Connor (Nick Stahl, replacing T2's Edward Furlong), now 22 and disconnected from society, is being pursued yet again, this time by the advanced T-X, a sleek "Terminatrix" (coldly expressionless Kristanna Loken) programmed to stop Connor from becoming the saviour of humankind. Originally programmed as an assassin, a disadvantaged T-101 cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger, bidding fond farewell to his signature role) arrives from the future to join Connor and future wife Kate (Claire Danes) in thwarting the T-X's relentless pursuit. The plot presents a logical fulfilment of T2's prophecy, disposing of Connor's mother (Linda Hamilton is sorely missed) while computer-driven machines assume control, launching a nuclear nightmare that Connor must survive.

With Breakdown and U-571 serving as rehearsals for this cautionary epic of mass destruction, director Jonathan Mostow wisely avoids any stylistic connection to James Cameron's classics; instead he's crafted a fun, exciting popcorn thriller, humorous and yet still effectively nihilistic, and comparable to Jurassic Park III in returning the Terminator franchise to its potent B-movie roots.

Bloody awful film but hot deal - grab this while you can

agreed what were they thinking

are you serious? this wasn't awful, the action scenes are actually really good. I think the acting isn't up to par with with the first 2 films, or it's possible that it doesn't feel right because they have changed the damn actors twice already in the new films.

I haven't seen the new one but i'd prefer this just because arnie is actually in it and not a short bit of CGI!.

its going thru as £9.99 in the check out section even thouggh it states the dvd is £2.37 on its product page.

A real tear jerker........ but only because it's such a bad film in comparison to T1 & 2.

Unfairly maligned, this one.

Claire Danes is a disappointment, but Arnie's great fun, as is Kristanna Loken.

And that chase with the crane has to be up there as one of the best chase scenes of all time.

The film was good action for me. The only thing that ruined it for me was that the bad terminator was a woman! Im not sexist or anything but it just didnt feel right. Arnie fighting a woman, it should of been a man damn it!

Showing as £9.99 on product page and £8.99 with 10% discount applied at checkout.

Price seems to have gone back up.

Yeah gone back up. But how can they charge that much for a DVD lol, must be a joke.

Good film with probably the best ending of the series.

What's the difference between the 1 disc and the 2 disc? Also is there any extras on the blu ray that aren't on the 2 disc?

Story isn't great, but the action is awesome when watched in HD with surround.

I couldn't buy this even if you paid me to
