You'll be sticking it a skip before the end of the year. I just hope your daughter comes to no harm on it. I would definitely recommend taking it to a LBS (if you'll find one which will touch it) to get it set up safely.

Makes me laugh comments like "You'll be sticking it a skip". 155 reviews, only 5 at 1 star and you get stupid comments like that. Its a handful of bolts to screw together to get it up and running. Maybe you should neg all the climbing frames or any kids furniture because you have to put it together.

Hot from me.

Agree entirely but at least these negative comments have decreased markedly over the years the lycra fascists are a rare breed on hukd these days thank god (although it makes for slightly less entertaining threads than before)

Bit expensive for a skip filler.

And I have nothing against women in Lycra.

5 stars because BSOs are easy to put together and generally look blinged up. Thus the owner gets the instant gratification that they have a good deal.

That 5 star review will be a distant memory when the wheels are out of shape, the gears won't index for more than a couple of days after adjustments and said child won't ride it anymore.

You couldn't get the raw materials to build a decent bike for £60 at cost, so how the hell anyone thinks that Tesco can make a profit and sell you a decent bike for £60 is beyond me!

Us cyclists are not just unnecessarily preaching over these BSOs. We love our sport and we want as many people to do it as possible. That want is not served well by supermarkets shifting lumps of metal which look like bikes that give an awful experience.

Davester, I think the idea is that tesco sell you all the other crap that goes with biking, the bike is a loss leader.

I also believe that it's £60 so you can ditch it when your little scrote out grows it gets bored with it or just wants to take up golf.

These bikes are terrible. Got a tesco bike and put it together and lets be honest i dont why I got one. Its a waste of money. The front tyre is slightly bent and the built quality leaves a lot to be desired.
