We got a balance bike for our boy when he was 3-ish (a wooden one from Amazon for about £20). It did wonders for him, he was flying on it in no time and the transition to a pedal bike was instant, he could pedal straight away on the first time.

I would recommend getting a balance bike and after a few months, when he has his balance sorted a bike without stabilisers. I think the transition is easier than from stabilisers to without.

I'd definitely buy 2nd hand, you could get a carbon with mid-range groupset that's only done a few miles....

If not, I'd upgrade the wheelset and pedals straight away. You might want to have a look at a new fork next.

Also might protect from the bits falling off and bouncing off the pavement as your kid rides!

Brilliant thanks order for my sons 6th birthday in November

It says sorry there are currently no sellers for this product?

DS has this for last 18 months, he is big for his age but has pretty much outgrown it at 6. Then again he is as tall as our DD who is 9. Quality has been fine for all the doubters, nothing has broken or come loose.

was thinking of getting a bike like this and removing the bottom bracket (ie making it into a balance bike with a front brake)
