worth a look

grrrr just applied last week. missed out!!!!

Also, existing customers can refer a friend. Both get 1000 clubcard points.

Can't wait for all the 'Don't get in debt in the first place' comments. Hot for me.

Hot, signed up 2 weeks ago and only got 16 months but will do me

I seem to remember reading that Tesco have changed their bank from RBS if that is the case you may want to disregard this comment. Applied and was accepted for an earlier version of this card - that was when the problems started - long story short it took two months to resolve and no apologies or recompense. They came very close to damaging my credit worthiness - please be aware

Also no contact available via email

They would be absolutely right. Just use this offer to shift debt and then clear it.

Got 'we will let you know within 5 days' which I guess is a no
It's told me a credit limit and that though, strangely enough

Or pay for everything on it and have the entire balance clear via direct debit monthly.

I've been trying to get a card for 3 years now, I tried once every 6 months or so but I **** up my credit rating in university 4 years back. Had 25k in my santander account for over a year and still couldn't get a nice deal on one. So much potential to be had with the cashback offers and such.

That been said I've applied & been refused for this just now, It's a shame as we save up all the clubcard points for christmas and then double them up for kids toys etc. 1/£4 when used anywhere is a nice little deal really.

0% on balance transfers for 3 months erm no thanks

NOTE, Tesco always give a very low credit limit, which means you'll likely trigger past it over that term (and incur a charge). (Yes: I have a perfect credit status!). Other credit cards normally give at least double what Tesco give.

I currently spend 400'£ a month with the satander 123 card , although the 9£ i get off that is now negated by the 5.50 interest a month .
it all goes on tesco 99 aswel , so i reckon id be better off with this .

Referrals are not permitted on HUKD, please can members refrain from suggesting other members PM them to obtain further points via the refer a friend scheme.

I've never been in debt and so have no credit history. Even though I have a mortgage I keep getting declined a credit card only wanted one for the points /cashback. People half my age and in debt have 3 or 4 of them. It's no wonder the banks keep messing up with logic like that.

And if you paid it on time you wouldn't be charged interest.
if you get £9 back you are buying fuel or using the train? something you would be buying with cash to get to and from work why use a credit card??

Just got accepted, thanks. 0% for 18 months on purchases is great! A bit useless for anyone wanting to transfer a large balance but we're not all stoozers. I have a small balance on my current card I can easily clear in 3 months so it suits me.

How do all these people with no credit card rent cars, pay for emergencies? Not everyone has significant savings to fall back on should their car break down or they have to pay for a tradesman. Credit cards are a great thing to have in your wallet and I wouldn't be without one abroad. They are only a bad thing in the hands of vain, materialistic people that have to have things now.

its an unfair system....by having no debt the credit card companies know they will make no money from you and so its not worth while having your custom, on the other hand someone who shows they regularly pay bills but occasionally go overdrawn and withdraw cash from credit cards....these are the type of people credit card lenders look for......technically speaking a mortgage is a debt

your getting ripped off then my if I buy something today it will be on my statement for 10th Febuary and if It is paid by 3rd March there is no interest if I don't pay by 3rd March there will be interest charged and they say on your statement next months estimated interest

double check mate cos you should be charged any interest if you are paying it straight after the statement is released.

Also If you are bare in mind they charge £24 a year for the card so this one will work out just as good if not better

Dan

How does the £25 award work ? Is there somewhere were you put in your current account details to receive the £25 or do they just knock £25 off your credit card bill ? Help please

When you apply via MSE you get a pop-up asking for an email and you then send them a form with a copy of your welcome letter (I used the letter my card came with) just take off the majority of your personal details. They then pay £25 into a nominated account of your choice.

how much is low for you? they gave me 5000!

Thanks but what if I have already applied for a card a month ago with the £25 cashback from another credit card company as I doubt I would get another £25 as I think it says only 1 cashback per credit card per applicant

Got this same deal this time last year to buy a gym. Almost paid up on the gym but great to get a long 0% on purchases as long as you can manage your finances.

had a tesco credit card for over 5 years, fab card.

Sorry, creditcard noob here.

What does 0% for 18 months on new purchases mean?

Thanks for the help. I don't know how lucky I am that you replied. I'd be lost without that explanation.
Apologies if I took up any of your valuable time.

Ok, let me guess. You don't get charged any interest on any purchases you make for 18 months?
Effectively making it an interest free loan for 18 months? Meaning you can just make the minimum payments each month until month 18?

exactly.....

Accepted :-) cheers OP this will come in handy.
