Fantastic deal. Good for you as well.
Just aping the Germans Tesco never give anything away unless they have to!!
Great deal
Cracking deal!
Thanks op I'm going to go and amend my shopping list for tomorrow's delivery
Wow! I have a delivery booked already so just amended to add a few more. Thanks for the heads up!
same here have a delivery that I can amend thanks to your info
£1.75 is a total pee take for potatoes anyway, that's £17.50 for a 25kg sack which they pay no more than £3 wholesale, even at the £3.90 they are making a similar profit to what the wholesalers make selling in to the catering trade etc
thanks good post
Thanks
How long is this for ?
Ohh thanks

sometimes I really find it difficult to understand us Brits, on one hand we moan that we are not getting things as cheap from a British as from a German retailer but on the other hand we want our pound to stand taller. delivering quality, jobs and taxes to our own economy takes that extra from all of us so I hope some day we all buy into the idea of supporting our own supermarkets than those operating from cheaper lands (and I only mean that from the economic perspective)
shame that the farmers will only get 1p per bag... oh well, i'm shopping at lidl instead.

Until 27/12
A nice example of the Supermarkets making christmas dinner more accessible for those on lower incomes, rather than trying to fleece them. Yes, yes, it's only a gesture, and they'll make millions and millions on everything else but it's something.
think they are price matching aldi, where maris pipers etc are 39p at the mo aldi.co.uk/en/…rs/
Did someone mention spudz!
Cheers op Merry Christmas everyone

Aldi quantities are better and so are the variety of potatoes.I always hate it when companies follow instead of leading. Hope you are listening Tesco.
great deal for Christmas, heat added!
The problem with Tesco's fruit and veg is the ultra short date codes, most times only a day or two. Potatoes can last months if correctly stored, yet Tesco's won't last a week!
I'm told by someone in the trade that the supermarkets do this deliberately for what ever strange marketing reason they have.

Why support Tesco? They have recently scrapped their pension scheme and now only pay statuory sick pay, this from a company who were recently making profits in the billions. Tesco exploit their staff and customers. Simple
Wouldn't say its copying.. this offer is a repeat from last year and so forth. Same with Easter.
Fab deal
excellent deal, love how it always ends up as a moan against tesco though. ... yawn...

That sounds all embracing.
Have you tried them all?
Tesco would be much more popular if it used it's buying power to have affordable fruit and veg. It is often the most expensive.
Thoughtful

I imagine the real reason is so that you keep having to buy more. If they lasted for months and you ate them slowly, you wouldn't spend any more money on them for months. If they go off after 1 week, you're back a week later to buy more (theoretically)
Good deal

This is of course true, but they are now complaining that people are buying less and shopping more frequently closer to home. If that is the case, they are shooting themselves in the foot !

Potato Racist! Reported!
I remember last year when I did the xmas food shop I expected the prices to creep up but in fairness to tesco they lowered the xmas veg stock prices when many retailers would put them up, so thanks tesco ☆
