Thank you for posting. Kettle and Toaster ordered.

4 slice toasters tend to be a bit slower in toasting than most 2 slice toasters but I don't find it a huge issue

My issue is the £2 so called collection charge

Brilliant buy! Thanks OP!

Perfect was going to get a replacement today.

What an odd none deal this is.....cheap toaster than is only a tenner, £2 saving countered by a collection charge of £2.

Cold.

This is a good quality toaster. I purchased the same toaster a while back

I bought purple toaster and kettle about a month ago for this price and they are ace! great value and bread is evenly toasted even when you use one slice. no idea why I got purple because I can't find accessories to go with it lol. heat

how is this relevant here? Assuming this 4 slice toaster is the same power as a 2 slice toaster (it may not be), then the heat will be spread over a bigger area, so yes, it might be slower. Not sure how your equation shows this though. Would be delighted to hear the explanation.

Just ordered to replace crap Currys toaster that browns one side faster than the other.

My explanation....is one really needed? It was merely a quip as a reply to the person that asked for one. My advice to you.....

Lighten up. (And please do not over analyse the word 'lighten up' to mean anything weight related)

I say we boycott companies that charge for a click and collect such as this when most companies are free.

In order to allow for a possible 8 heating elements to be active at once ( 4 slices of toast , 2 elements each) they have to reduce the wattage of the elements otherwise they will exceed the 13amp maximum from a standard socket. This makes it toast slower.
In a 2 slice toaster you can have higher rated heating elements as only a maximum of 4 elements will run at a time.

So do we know if a 2 and 4 slice toaster are the same power? Maybe if we only use 2 slices of toast those elements run at a higher power than if using 4 slices, when they reduce down. I doubt it'll be quicker to use a 2 slice twice than a 4 slice once if you want 4 slices, but I haven't tried it.

The 4 slice toaster we have certainly doesn't up the power to the elements when only 2 slices are toasted, I'm not sure if it could be done in reality as how hot the element gets depends on the thickness of the element wire. It does take longer than the 2 slice toasters we've had, but it's not a huge issue.

It's not at all. HUKD comments section is littered with non-funny jokes and such.

Try posting some deals, getting some badges after your name and perhaps...just perhaps we might get some balance to your argument. Until then, as far as I am concerned firstly you have no credance to your argument, and secondly regardless of whether you found it amusing or not, several others did and I do contribute adding balance to comments

But, let's for a moment consider your [contribution] to HUKD....cannot say I am keen on them personally myself, but was this really necessary?

Ah yes, the ultimate dad shoe. good.

I say you add a product with whatever value is needed to take it over the £30 in this case £22.
When you collect refuse the £22 item which is then refunded to your card.
I agree you shouldn't have to pay to collect but we must play them at their own game.

Voted hot BTW £8 for a 4 slice toaster ?
Unbelievable value.

Bought one 3 weeks ago instore for £10, only problem I found with it was not all bread fits, think it was warburtons that was too long ,

Toaster contest : post your toaster model and time to toast. Please include make of bread for fair comparison and picture of how toasted you like your toast.

See the thing is, Tesco have large debts. We should boycott them not because of a poxy click and collect charge but rather because of the way they treat their suppliers. It's their suppliers, like farmers, who they have a stranglehold over and that's where they'll most likely be looking to save more money.

Warburtons is a 'large area' brand but if you don't eat bleached white flour most others will fit.

Cold, cause it's crap. No bread I put in it fitted. Standard square loaf from 3 main companies wouldn't fit. Returned.
