My first deal, though it might be useful for guys struggling with this hot weather. Cheapest I could found

The AC20L12 is a highly effective air cooler, with a large evaporation volume and fast humidifying and refrigerating function. The cooler unit has 3 settings: normal, natural and sleeping, which can be activated via a remote control. The air cooler will also automatically switch off after continuously working for 24 hours.

These things are useless, may as well put a wet towel over a desk fan+

That bad eh ?
Must admit, I've never used one but have been thinking about getting one in this scorching weather.

how would it work if you stuffed some ice cubes in it?

I have one, used once. Will sell as is utterly useless! I ended up with condensation running down the walls due to the stated 'large evaporation volume'. Had to redecorate the room to get rid of the streaks.

Useless product - buy a decent standard fan and save yourself the money!

What I do is get some of those freezer blocks and tie them to the front of an ordinary fan.Gives off some lovely cool air.

These are useless. If heat really is a big issue than an investment of 250-400 for a half decent air con shouldn't be ignored. Had to survive with one of these 2 summers ago and did nothing that a standard fan wouldn't do. Finally convinced my landlord to go half on a air con with me and the difference was incredible!!!

The general consensus is enough to put me off buying one of these..... have to give it a cold vote as well seeing as it seems crap.

Sand here was thinking of getting one for little ones room.

Typing Error * same ^^

we need the air cooler in South wales as they have run out of FANS:(

You fill these with water and or ice blocks from the freezer, they do work but not as well as a real air conditioner..
Not worth £60 but if you can find one that works from your local boot sale for £5/£10 then well worth it.

that is fugly

How about getting one of those sexy Dyson fans?

I have a llyotron type of theses which is both a heater and a cooler .For the cooler I fill with chilled fro my tap cooler water .Can use ice water too.Works brilliantly in this weather .Comes out welll chilled compared to the ambient temp.Just my thoughts but mine works well.

Well, I don't know about you, but I don't have £200 to spend on a fan that the minute that I purchase it, the weather turns foul and we have a snow storm… in the middle of July.

l tried one of these type coolers . they arent great. not much better than a regular fan and a fuss to use i now have got portable airconditioner with outside vent hose . this is fab but cost £ 300 . also costs a small fortune to run .
