Tesco 'Ashbeck' English Still Natural Mineral Water 5 litre for 25p (normally £1) @TESCO METRO

Just been to my local tesco in Elephant & Castle and these 5 litre 'tanks' were scanning at 25p. Not sure if it's nationwide but don't see why not. For all of those from 'the north' who can't hack the taste of water in the 'south' (and vice versa ;-)), this is a sweet deal if you can get it

EDIT: offer still on but I think it's only in Tesco 'Metro' stores- seen this in two of those but retailing at full price in both Larger Tesco 'Extra' and smaller 'Express' stores

Yes yes you can't beat Northern water, but for those who are down south out of necessity, you've got to get by somehow. This water is fresh from Ashbeck, Cumbria (North-West England for those not geographically inclined)

I know people are probably gonna vote this cold because there is this thing called 'tap water' . But these 5L bottles are handy if your organising a party etc at a hall where handing out tap water isn't practical. You can leave these at the drinks table and people can help themselves and at 25p is a bargain.

Ashbeck doesn't exist!

This is bottled by Aqua Pura at Low Plains, between Penrith and Carlisle. It comes from a manmade borehole.

It comes out of the same aquifer as my tapwater. I know this because I drilled the boreholes and built the water treatment works!

i hate this water tbh, it has a weird taste. can't beat buxton

Not bad price, been to Tesco tonight and had plenty of this on the shelf. Although I find chilling tap water just as nice

Good deal. I know some people who think bottled water is some kind of scam but tap water tastes of bleach to me.

Good deal, Londoners have no choice but to live with bottled water, tap water just have a weird taste somehow..

like shandy?

Don't burst their bubble!

Voted hot because it's cheap, but there's nothing wrong with tap water in the south or the north and in my opinion if you choose to drink bottled water over tap water at home you're wasting money and effort.

Having said that, tap water definitely does taste better up north. If you ask me, Edinburgh's is tastiest of all.

good deal but might i suggest investing in a water filter
i used to be a purchaser of bottled water but got tired of having to bring it back from the supermarket. especially now that i've moved to uni and the supermarkets further away.

I much prefer Newcastle Brown Ale - the North East water of choice.

London Thames region tap water came third in a blind taste test again dozens of mineral waters.

Bottled Mineral water in the UK is a tax on the gullible, just like home water filters.

All UK tap water is pure, filtered and safe to drink., Any taste ( from chlorine used in purification) can be removed either by chilling or by leaving it to stand for a few hours.

A good reason to invest in a home water filter jug then.

The water in manchester City is DISGUSTING well in my building anyway, have been drinking bottled water for 17years, this deal is fantastic if it works! Thanks, I'd drink London water anyday!

Is anybody finding this for the same price? Can't be bothered with the Sunday queues/parking hassle, if it's not a widespread price. Thanks!

X) Glass of 'PECKHAM SPRING' water, anyone?
