Tesco's box of Boil in the Bag Rice, which contains 4 bags of 125g rice is only 47p. It's not showing as an offer, but I'm sure this was in the region of 80p before. This was in my local store and it's also showing this price online. This rice is easy to cook if you are not great at getting your rice just right :-)

agreed. quite handy though

£1 a kilo is the going rate for dry Basmati rice.
So here you are paying the dry rate for wet rice and so getting less.
All you are buying is 'added value' ie packaging.

I must remember to keep buying it in 50kg sacks from the wholesaler then...

(ie. not everyone wants huge bags).

But still, I agree in part.

i prefer boil in the pan rice

I've tried this stuff before and its barely edible, absolutely rotten stuff!

It's Dry rice, not wet. It has to be boiled in water to cook it just like any other dry rice. The water will be absorbed and the weight will increase.

Easy Cook rice is currently £1.21 a Kilo, though you can occasionally pick some up for 99p, either way this is cheaper so hot from me (& echo the positive 'Campers' comment) Thanks for posting

These are great IMO. No fuss, no mess and taste just fine.

I like the boil in bag rice because I find it doesn't clag as much as normal rice (and yes, I do run normal rice under the cold tap until the reservoir runs dry before I cook it). I don't use BiB rice for everything, but it has its uses.

I also agree with ashburn that snapdragon appears to be confusing this product with the ready-cooked variety.

Heat added because this is a good price for the product. Whether everybody in the world actually likes the stuff is irrelevant.

Yes, Sorry.

We have this every week with korma and even the kids love it! It comes out dry, just drain for a while and don't overcook it, that's when it goes a bit mulchy.
Usually about 89p so hot from me
