I'll order some for delivery along with some eggs.

See which comes first.

Baste it in bleach for an hour or two, you'll have post-brexit trade deal US style chicken. Yummy.

even at this price i can't afford meat for my family, thank god sugar is so cheap, pancakes and syrup for tea again.

Meat in the EU is pumped full of antibiotics that are critical to human health to achieve the same effect.

The EU then publish a report observing increased antibiotic resistance amongst animals which means less antibiotics available to humans.

Don't worry, we'll still be able to buy the EU stuff too post-brexit. It's going to be great.

Pumped with water.

I think you'd be negligent to not to worry about the standards of the food you and your family eat: whether its EU approved antibiotics, US chlorination to kill dangerous bacteria that shouldn't be there, or the recent 2-sisters duplicity in the UK.

I'd take it. The 6 avocados alone would be worth far more than this chicken.

Yes, but how often is stuff delivered with a use by date in the next day or two? Hope you remembered the toilet roll too.

What, I always get something better for the same price. And you can return it there and then anyway.

Tap water is chlorinated... doesnt do any harm.

Won't be buying any US chicken though; support local farmers where possible.

Seriously have to ask questions about a large prepared chicken for £2.25....

Honestly? I've never had a problem with it. In fact I find that with Tesco I tend to get goods with a longer date when I have delivery compared to what I can get in my local store. My nearest store is literally a 1 minute drive away, but I tend to order for home delivery because the range is bigger (the deliveries don't come from my local store) and the dates on fresh goods often have a day or two on what's in my store. I guess it varies from one place to another.

Pretty much, how they can even make a profit on a full chicken that's less than a price of a coffee is worrying.

This does seem exceedingly cheap, and reminds me of Alan Partridge's thoughts having met Bernard Matthews:

“Bernard Matthews is either responsible for the biggest ornithological genocide of recent times, or he is the greatest farmyard-to-table strategist of the last 100 years…He is tantalisingly close to producing the 10-pence turkey, now there's a thought . . ."
