Tesco currently have Chapatti Flour (Atta) Medium on offer, if you buy 2 10kg bags of Chapatti Flour (Atta) Medium it will cost you £7.00, if you were to purchase 1 it will cost you £5.00

This has been previously been posted @ £8.00 for 20kg and recieved a good response here: hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…693

It also has been posted @ £4.00 for 10kg and recieved a good response here: hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…342

This deal is instore and online and does not work with the other flours such as white or wholemeal, it is also priced cheaper than there Tesco Value flour which is £4.00 for 10kg

I hope this will help someone who buys this product

Please don't vote cold because you don't buy this product, all you are doing is making people unaware of a deal which might be helpful to them, which is unfair I don't buy this product but I posted it because many people do.

It's good, even their value one is fab! tesco.com/gro…156 10kg for £4 still makes great chapatti's (roti) ... My mum is picky when it comes to value or basic range stuff but loves the value flour, no complaints!

I get 25kg Elephant for about £12- not as good as Tesco prices but get nice chapattis :-)
Would try this but for the sake of a £3ish difference and hundreds of chappattis think I will sick to it- Thanks for the info though- Heat added

Is it wholemeal or white?
Protein of 11.9 is really quite good for slow rise breads.

Sorry, this product is currently not available.

Maybe your store does not stock it hence, why you might not be able to have it delivered or maybe they have run out all the HUKD people clearing the stock lol

Great thanks for posting

It's in between, definitely not wholemeal or white. I don't have any issues using this flour for making a standard loaf and never have. :-)

Recipe?

Using the breadmaker

450g flour
350ml water
1.5 tsp salt
3 tsp sugar
1 sachet of fast acting yeast
Splash of olive oil

If you use a wetter mix you will get a lighter, more airy bread.

I've made a delicious cheese, chilli and onion loaf with this flour. Adjust the mixture down accordingly.

I found some information regarding Gluten content >

food.com/bb/…zsp?t=308544

"Chapati is another name for atta flour. It is not gluten-free.
Atta flour seems to be made from wheat flour and malted barley"

Thanks for sharing, that sounds very nice you must be making your own bread all the time

Yeah it's a medium flour

Yes, i've been doing it for a few years now. I'll never go back. Pizzas, pitta, naan, rolls and more.

I know that some people struggle but persevere, it really is worth it.

You are a pro baker!! oO and you voted this as a good product, I think I will take your word for it

How much better is atta flour then generic wholemeal flour for chapatti (and other indian bread)?
I bought a bag of wholemeal as I couldn't find any atta at my local store and I've still not used it all.

i hav used it n trust me not good...elephant brand is the best

Cold as auntie is when she queue's in the sales

Very good product, my mother switched our Chapatti flour from a big brand to this and nobody could tell the difference.

i use this all the time and i hav to say its good..dough doesnt go all soft and watery after the first day..which is good if u dnt want floppy chappatis!

This is the most exciting video I saw last year - relevant to this post

Is the flour OK for this … Is the flour OK for this machine?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsfccHgWDb0

I imagine so - it's not been released yet though.

I bought these a few years ago when they were 3 pounds. never used them and have just got rid. oh dear

Elephant etc are generally made by hovis or similar companies. Probably for tescos too. They just give it a generic Asian sounding branding .

iv been usinv it for nearly three years now. makes delicious warm warm indian chapatis.
the flour is just right for our family. just nade some today. i changed my flour from champion to tesco for better taste and better price. thanks for leting us know of the offer.
