Tesco Clubcard Fuel Save EXTENDED UNTIL MAY

181
Found 24th Jan 2015
I have been informed today that the tesco fuel save will not be ending in February and has now been extended until end of May 2015!

So you can still earn up to 20p off your fuel a month!

Also with the continuing reduction in fuel prices, this is a bit of a shock! but very good news for the people who found fuel save a benefit to them!

Spread the word and add some heat! Thanks

Shouldn't it be £50 , that is the minimum amount you have to spend to get 2p off a litre.

I'll save 78p/L in Feb, however, the max is 20p.:(

good news

Glad they're extending it but it's no shock to me, Tesco more expensive than asda and all supermarkets are still making a nice profit on fuel given the price independents, costco etc are selling under £1.

thanks op

Oh good thanks! I think it's brilliant

Great news as I have been 20p off each month, however I do agree. Its a lot dearer than most places around us.

You normally find that tesco will be 1p/2p dearer, but what people forget is that you get clubcard points on fuel. 1 point per £2... or 1 point per £1 on premium unleaded.

The points can be tripled up or sometimes even quadrupled and there you have a saving of 4p off a litre technically.

Multiple clubcards would help. (Ones in others names)

It's 1 point per £2 on Momentum I'm afraid . It's the only decent petrol they do. Wish Tesco did LPG.

Agreed but your better off just saving a few pence per little and having cold hard cash instead of a pizza express voucher

Well it's not have to be in 1 transaction, if you spend 2 or 7 or 15 they all add up and at the end of the month , if u have spent let's say 200 in total they give you 8 p off

All spends now rack up so that helps, previously it was £50 for 2p and £25 for 1p ( in one spend ), with odd amounts getting rounded down at end of previous month!
You can now spend £48 and £2 separately and still qualify for the 2p

The max is 20p per liter per transaction, you can save more but you have to use it seperately

The down size is the 95 regular petrol they sell is crap. I have always used the shell one and from them tesco the premium one. But I had 10poff in december and I decided to fill the tank up with the regular 95 one. Since then my dashboard is like a xmas tree... a lot of lights came on... engine check mainly... and this was not happening before...

I don't suppose they expect people like you (with presumably no clue how fuel prices work) to be grateful at all. When you say "wholesale" you actually mean "crude oil". The cost of refining hasn't dropped, and neither has the 58p a litre duty or the VAT on that.

58p + VAT = 70p. So at £1.05, you're paying 35p - or 29p before VAT, for the fuel, the refining, transportation and retailing.

At £1.35, it would be 54p, which isn't far off twice the price - especially considering that the other costs haven't really changed.

Love the comments above re Tesco fuel not being as good as others.

I work with Immingham Refinery and lot of different brands fill their tankers up from the same tanks; Tesco, Shell, Esso, Texaco and others. It is all the same stuff.

Same here
I started order from Asda and saved nearly £20 a week while buying the same thing and usually spend £80 from Tesco
So don't really care about the fuel save anymore

So do you think petrol prices at the pumps should be half price too?

this helps my pocket so i will be quids in!

Fab, so pleased this has been extended

I've got 14p to spend by the end of this month.... Should bring it under £1 a litre.... not bad considering it was £1,35 and above a few months ago...

1 point per every pound if you swipe your Tesco clubcard credit card (if you have one, that is).

That may have been the case during the pilot period but since it rolled out nationwide all transactions add up.

I think you are correct. With Clubcard credit card I get double points on fuel (1 per £1 rather than 1 per £2) and Momentum definitely used to be 2 per £1.

I didn't realise it changed haha sneaky beggers changing it back to point per £2

No you are incorrect about pilot period, it was the case nationwide until the complaints came rolling in and Tesco realised it wasn't working and customers were complaining in their droves, this is a very recent change whereby all spends count.

I don't know it yet, will try it by the end of Feb.
Thanks

Brill, love getting diesel @ 95p makes me feel 18 again.

KNEW they would extend this! It's what brings a lot of people to them as they are slightly dearer than most but with the fuel save it's worth it. Tescos know they would lose some revenue getting rid of it.
