was £8.50 last year

It sure was, I got a few at that bargain price. I bet it will go on again at that price later on in the year, suppose this to get people to go earlier on in the year.

Not quite as good as the other Clubcard 4x boosts, due to it never being difficult to find an Alton Towers 2 for 1 voucher on cereal boxes or free at supermarkets.

No it's not quite as good as the 4 x deals or the £8.50 offer they had a good few months back. If you take Alton Towers for example, the problem with the 2 for 1 vouchers is that often you cannot use them in conjunction with any offers/discounts, etc so it still ends up costing a small fortune. If you book online 7 days in advance you save 25 %, 2 adults via this route is £72. On the gate price is £96. A 2 for 1 on the gate works out at £48 unless you can use it in conjunction with any other offers. The Clubcard route is effectively free as the vouchers haven't cost you anything.

Just goes to show what good value the Merlin passes are if you are prepared to stump up the money!

This sounds daft, but does anyone know if you can just book a night at the hotel, and use 2 of these either side?

£10 for one day........£50 for a year go as many times to any of the parks ,don't forget the crappy £6 parking charge

It would appear that you can, but it all seems to depend on when and which room you stop in. Some of the rooms at the hotel seem to include a days pass to the splash park whereas others give you 25 % early booking and then others give you free breakfast. Tell you what though they aren't cheap.

Have a look

Really disappointed in Clubcard this time...the new way of checking out and identifying what items are eligible for the double points exchange isn't even working properly. (on kitchen and clothing the 'clubcard boost' symbol isn't on the item description or checkout page as it should be). Get your act together Tesco!

Just a heads up, you can get a bounce back ticket to come back next day from these too from as little as £4.80. And an anytime ticket for £15.

Each time I went to Thorpe Park or Alton Towers last year I always got a next day ticket, a lot of my Uni friends live near these places so it's viable for me. I know it's not for everyone.

Car park costs around £5 or £6 to get out though

"Thinks" he's referring to the standard annual pass which is available for £50 of clubcard vouchers...

Ah I see, I don't think that many people have £5 worth of vouchers sat there surely, I wish I did!!

£34.80 for 1 Adult and 1 child if you use the kellogs offer ( on crunchy nut cornflakes at the moment at Least) which is Adult goes free with a child ticket!

Only with the premium pass by the looks of it. There's a saving calculator which is worth a look.

Didn't Merlin annual pass holders get free parking? I had a pass a few year back when we did a 'tourist trip' to London and got the pass with our club card. Remember the parking being free at Alton Towers then. Maybe it's changed.

We have always found or brought some 2 for 1 vouchers to the Merlin attractions. Rip off at full price especially as we are a family of four.

Think they used to, have a look via the link above which tells you what's included.

Has this offer finished? I cannot seem to find it, now only shows as £12.50?

Original Poster

No it's still on there. If you search by the place or by "special offer" it should show it. Link was meant to take you to show the special offers but it doesn't work so you need to re-search.

If you shop through Top Cashback you can opt to
change £50 cash into £50 worth of Clubcard Points
every year. They sure do come in handy.

You could argue that there is no financial cost, but there is clearly an opportunity cost. Clubcard points can be used a lot more intelligently than on this deal!

I don't disagree! The fact still remains that this is a reasonably good deal. We used a load of vouchers many moons ago when everything was 4 x the value we managed to get £500 quids worth of Goldsmiths vouchers for £125 and got two watches with them. We don't tend to use them this way anymore as days out with the kids seem far more valuable to use but each to there own, you do what's right for you!

If you do go for this deal then you have to go before before end of may 2014.

went there last week and the 'return next day' tickets are now £9.80. The return anytime ones are still £15. Bit poor that they've effectively doubled the price of the next day ticket.
