Very tasty. We had one yesterday and demolished it on hot buttered toast. Not much flavour to the white meat but the dark was delicious and plenty of it for supper for two of us.

Just what I was looking for.... ordered!!

Since when was a cooked crab £10 oO

^beat me to it. It would need to be Crabzilla to be a tenner!

what are they doing now, putting down it was a tenner and now 5?

Been 5 in my local for a lot longer than 3 months as I keep looking then picking one up fresh from the local market for a bit less.

Wouldn't eat anything that "Contains Crustacean" give you the thuppenny bits.

My local fishmonger has fresh ( within 24 hours caught fresh) crabs for £4.00. How old are these ones ? 2 days before in store after caught plus a day or two on shelf... Not for me thanks.

Usually Tesco's fish are very fresh but if you do buy and it's not as fresh as you like then you can get a refund under the tesco freshness guarantee

Typical smoke and mirrors pricing policy by Tesco, crooks

I disagree profusely

I used to have crabs loads at university but I certainly wouldn't pay £5 for them.

I'm sure they're not, however this isn't just a cooked crab, it's a dressed crab, so all the fiddly preparation has been done.

They're fine. I don't like supermarket "fresh" fish after being spoiled by having a fish van come round my street for years. But the dressed crab was very nice, not stale at all. However I wouldn't have eaten it the next day since as I say I am quite fussy.

I bought one of these babies before Christmas and with the assistance of YouTube managed to dress it myself. I foolishly thought it would arrive in the same prepared condition that it showed in the picture on their site. wrong! lol

thanks for doing the maths for us all!!

do you live by the coast?

I've bought this crap few weeks ago - yuck!

So is it dressed or whole - as in just boiled for you!

Seems that there are two types:

Whole Crab (unspecified weight) was £10.00 now £5.00: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=276115943

Dressed Crab (200g) £5.00: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=262919342

Typical smoke and mirrors not specifying the weight of the first crab so it is impossible to work out which is best value.

these have been £5 for ages, when they arrive (have my shop delivered) they are frozen

This contains Crustacean quote..:p
Reminds me of Milk cartons with (contains milk) on them..X)

Got the small ones instead

Not sure about paying for them, but currently £8.05 to get rid.

Always , the name Tesco "how to treat a customer like a fool" pricing strategy is the hint, normal price X 2 then half, then you think it is a great deal. However they do have some great deals but that's rare as they got them from China ever so cheap at year end, such as the Asus Memo Pad 7 two Christmases ago for £65.

Tesco Crab left me with serious side effects...

Got one of these on Sunday and it was pretty big, but it wasn't dressed - it took hubby half an hour to break up all the bits and eat it. oO

It's always £5 in Tesco!

I ordered one and got a whole crab as a sub. In hindsight I shouldn't of bothered for a one off item like crab go to a fishmonger and buy a fresh one.

if your going for this then i would suggest the Nicky Elite 3 Ply Toilet Rolls 16 Rolls £3.50 Aldi offer.
