is this only for new tesco credit card applications?

don't forget clubcard points

hot

you can transfer "95% of your credit limit". Here's a wee tip. Credit card applications will ask you your salary. They use this not to approve you but to help determine your credit limit so don't be modest (though always be honest)

Be modest or honest in applications you should always be honest or you may be committing fraud and possibly getting up you in to debt you can't afford, so let's be honest if rather than modest.

Good point though I did say "always be honest" - I just meant don't be blaise about it. Apply in the name of the higher earner in the household or don't play it down if you're self employed or receive bonuses or whatever

Just make sure to enter the correct amounts without typos (in monthly) regardless if you put the correct amount in annual) I've just had mine rejected because I'm stupid and forgot 1 digit the important 1 e.g the first one so it said I was too poor to be considered.

New customers only by the looks of things.

Heat. Awesome deal I've used it before.

Heat! Good for people who are not already with Tesco.

I already have a Tesco CC but this is hot!
You can transfer money into your debit account, gain interest and pay the monthly minimum for 12 months and then pay it off. Gain interest in an account like Santander's 124. Probably make £xxx out of it but need to be vigilant with the money.

Don't forget to remember that figure if you apply for other cards near same few months, entering random amounts in a short period would highlight issues which would lead to rejection

Remember folks, please borrow responsibly and always make purchases within your realistic means.

Balance transfers can entice you into a false perception of your financial capabilities, it's very easy to subsequently find yourself in real trouble quickly.

For those able to use these offers in a controlled and strategic way this is a hot deal OP.

If you apply via comparethemarket for the 12 month BT fee free product get a free meerkat

Yes. You are considered a new customer if it's been more that 6 months after you've cancelled.

I had this for when I bought a Mac the year before. Crazy if I spent £1,200 on a laptop outright

£25 cash back from Quidco too?

not due to hop until next year but a good deal!

I believe that's a money transfer, rather than a balance transfer. It's a different offering altogether and not one available with most cards (withdrawing cash is different again, and costs an absolute bomb). Are you saying you did that with this particular card?

Can it be used in Lidl?

Looks a good deal, am I right in thinking it's also 12 months on purchases to

Yes it's 12 months 0% on BT's and purchases

Great deal, not many cards offering 0% and no transfer fees now

Great deal, just signed up, cheers OP.

I posted this same deal deal about 4 months ago and it never got over 100 so never went hot. Its a good deal for moving a balance till next xmas.

They also do a pretty decent 19 months 0% purchases card too.

Barclays are offering 34 months you have to transfer the balance within 60 days though.

Certainly none been used in the Tesco Extra I was at tonight, more staff than customers. Empty, nearly every item I picked up best before 12 dec, tomorrow.
The Lidl, Aldi + Home Bargains, Poundland etc, are definitely having a real effect. I was actually worried for future of Tesco after shopping there tonight, still it was a Wednesday. The sad thing about all this head office corruption is the amount of food wastage its creating. Its nowhere near over yet. Poor online sales on Black Friday, due website problems - is going to hurt bigtime too.

Correct but they charge a 2.9% fee to transfer the balance.

I have this card though and is great.

Please don't offer 'tips' on things you don't understand.
If you transfer money to your debit account on this card, you WILL be charged interest.

Looks good

Just be careful, my friend was told by a someone in a bank that BTs can affect your credit rating as it's looked at that you can manage/afford spending

I have got credit cards with barclaycard and lloyds can I put them both on this Tesco card and what would be the best way to go about it?

Good deal the fact that 0%

Absolute Baloney. A balance transfer does not show up on a persons searchable credit file. Having worked in underwriting I can tell you that statement is false.

exactly what I need after black friday!

I'd like to set the record straight if I may. There has been mention of transferring the money to a bank account to gain interest.

This would not be possible without heavy penalties (cash advance few, interest).. So stay clear if this is your intention. This card is just for straight BT from other CCs..

Just my 2-pence worth..

Don't need to but might do just for Quidco

You can do the transfer to bank account to earn interest if you do it indirectly.

You make other purchases with the card and the money that you would have used to pay off the card at the end of the month gets transferred to an interest paying account instead. You then carefully pay the minimum payment to the credit card for 10 months in the interest free period (from the interest paying account if you wish), then on the 11th month you transfer the money back to the CC to pay off the balance completely within the zero per cent period.

It's not likely to gain much interest, but it CAN be done.

I have to second this as i see myself as a champion of balance transfers. I have 6 credit cards (1 I actually do use as my personal credit card), which I take advantage of in order to get me money back from, make my credit rating go out the roof (on time monthly payments, which shows you can manage debt), if anything it would go for you not against as usually if you balance transfer your paying off an historical debt, which will add a 1 to your monthly file against that creditor. What will go against you is late payments and non payments. So please advise your friend that they are totally incorrect.
