People buy slow cookers all the time and never use them.
So you can often pick one up locally (ebay or gumtree) cheap as chips.
I wouldn't be too fussed about brand name, they are all much of a muchness. I've got an Argos value one and it cooks as good as any other.
Having said that, £18 with free C&C is a decent price for a branded 3.5L slow cooker.
Usually over £25, can find on Amazon for £20 with prime.
also, different prices for different colours, not easy to find the 3.5L black one
Picked up a Tesco branded one for £10 for 3ltr though
why look in Stockport when you can order online and have delivered to Stockport?
its a good one, but it's a fairly "fast" slow cooker. my old one didn't cook as quick as this one.
Cool story.
What meals do you tend to cook in it? Any good recommendations?
Quality bit of kit. Really well made.
Not true, a lot of the cheap ones cook too quickly, even on the low setting
Black, Steel
Not if you want your rice in 15 mins
Meat! Most meat will cook to juicy tenderness in a slow cooker. Cheap pork, beef, even a whole chicken. Stews are a good all rounder, Mediterranean dishes, spicy nonsense - the lot
I was going to collect the Argos one tomorrow but just seen your post, so not sure whether to get the Tesco one instead.
Tried to look to compare the product details for you, but they give quite different product info.
small
The safest size for a full chicken would be a 6.5L one.
Thanks Loubou, new to all of this.
