Some lads want phones, money, clothes and you get him a gazebo. That's one present to remember

ha ha! its not his present, for his party.

I personally wouldnt bother with these things, the poles are 15mm in diameter, the connector joints tend to be plastic, there are no ground bars available so the bottom of the sides waft about in anything other than a mere breeze.

And to top it all theres very often an air vent in the centre of the roof. If you're unlucky enough to get a downpour water tends to collect at the stitching until its heavy enough to cascade through to all the party goers.

The guy ropes and pegs that come with these items are completely useless for anything other than tripping people up, therefore when the gazebo has blown over the poles will be bent and the connectors will be fractured & therefore you will have a useless bit of kit to store.

Cheap item, and generally only suitable for "The" summers day we will be lucky to get. I would advise fellow readers to avoid these and go for a more substantial marquee, not a gazebo.

But.....its just my opinion.

Very very cold as you can get the exact same tent for £59 on Amazon. Even got the same picture Cheaper here

Nightmare to put up and don't bet on it lasting more than one use - but you may be grateful you don't have to do it all again. It may do for what you want but it really isn't a bargain.

I luv these Marquees, they are great fun for all..................... but I do have to agree with BingoBertie post...... X)

We purchased the exact same one as pictured (9m x3m) last summer for my Daughters 14th Birthday party, we bought it when it was on offer in B&Q at half price...was £150, went down to £75...........made by Blooma............

We still have it and will use it again this year, BUT! its a nightmare to put together as the whole thing is made so cheaply.
As Bertie has said,
cheap flimsy 15mm poles,
cheap plastic connectors,
No ground bars available so the bottom of the sides panels waft about with the slightest wind.

We had to change the Marquee 3 times because of poor quality components, we also had money discounted because of all the trouble we had.

Several poles were rusting, straight out of the box.
Several poles were either bent or dented.
Missing metal clips from certain poles.
Several poles were numbered incorrectly.
The large roof canopy had weave defects, large areas of broken weave.

Once the Marquee is up it does actually looked pretty impressive, its a massive 30ft long. A word of warning! never put it up on a windy day though, even the slightest wind will want to launch the entire Marquee up into the sky....... lol

Ours actually done the job superbly after a lot of headache replacing parts etc. I have now purchased some extra spare parts incase certain components break, we want to use ours for many years to come BUT! not sure how long it will last due to the poor quality and design.

I would certainly recommend spending a bit more money on a better quality one if you can.

The 9m x 3m (30ft x 10ft) one that we have, same as the one pictured above £89.99 @ Tesco........ its only £59 on ebay

Cant wait till the summer!

The nightmare is with the quality of the product.............. We bought cheap and we paid the price buy having to buy extras as we wanted to keep it!................. looking back I wish I had paid more for a better quality one.

Agreed - but sounds like you were expecting something decent for very little money - naive.

Regardless, it should at least be fit for purpose, so well done Da11as, for pursuing them and getting some further discount.

Put one of these up for our daughters christening, came home to find it in two of our neighbours gardens

We have a similar one that we have use for about 3 years in a row. We always tape the joints with electrical tape as we put it together and so far no problems.

No not at all, considering the price was £150 I was expecting a decent Marquee, simple as that..... 'Fit For Purpose' as Rickardo has pointed out, anybody would have taken the product back when you find rusty, dented, bent poles etc. Because we wanted it for our daughters party and paying the bargain half price offer, its obviously we wanted to exchange it.....

Once the Marquee is up and anchored properly it really does look impressive, this is why we have kept it.... BUT! it does need alot of nursing when erecting and trying to keep it erected.................... lol

On ebay for the same 9m x 3m Marquee cost £59, thats still £9 too much BUT! is a more suitable price considering the poor quality of these cheap Marquee's............. they are all made in China with poor quality materials.......shame really.

We also have this gazebo.....we paid £70 via Amazon, about 3 years ago - around £70 seems to be the usual price.

I realise some have had horror stories and bad experiences. We have used ours 3 times (always in the summer) and ours worked great, even in rain.

We are careful putting it together and have taped/braced some of the connectors (they are brittle plastic)......

I think for the occasional party, these are great. I dare say a professional marquee will withstand more wear/rain/wind but when I bought mine, these were £400.

I've just noticed the £59 ebay link I put up for the same 9m x 3m Marquee is from Lakeland Furniture.

The Tesco 9m x 3m Marquee priced at £89.99 is also from Lakeland Furnirure, i.e you are buying the Marquee from Lakeland not Tesco................... lol

Best to buy direct with the ebay link for £59 than pay £89.99 via the Tesco website.....................

The 6m x 3m 79.99 version the OP has mentioned in the title only costs £52 direct with Lakeland via ebay.................... lol

There is noway Tesco is offering any type of deal here....... sorry OP.....;) it seems Tesco have cut a deal with Lakeland allowing Tesco to pile their profit ontop........ cone the customer as usual.....

These are worth the money imo. Tape the joints on the poles. Buy yourself some good cord and pegs to anchor it down with. and hey many partys to come.

WEBDT

I would got this from Ikea … I would got this from Ikea http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00203597/#/80198846

That's a great idea. Do you know if lidl is still selling the netting, whenever i have looked online at netting, it seems very expensive.
