not bad deal. but having to pump it manually is a big task and not very relaxing. certainly not what you want before sleeping.

Got one of these a few weeks back on the same offer. Not used it yet but seems great for the money, other places like Wilko have them for £12+

Tesco have the electric pumps for £7-8 so we may grab one of them when we think we'll be using it.

Hot!

we are in a 1 bed house at the mo sleeping on a sofa bed that was soooooo uncomfy!
mother in law bought this with an electric pump for us and it is heaven!
like sleeping on a water bed if you dont pump it fully, best nights sleep for a long time.
well worth the money (esp when it wasnt my own!):-D

These flock airbeds are rubbish. You are on a nice comfy bed at night, then on the floor in the morning. They soon leak at the seams, and hard to repair there.

Sounds like you've had a bad experience with ONE air bed and it's put you off them ALL.
I too once owned a flocked double airbed. However, I would like to state that I slept on mine nearly every night for 6 months whilst working away, before it got a "puncture". The puncture was underneath and not on the seams as you mentioned. I preferred to pump mine up HARD (ooh baby) and it felt almost exactly like a firm mattress when I lay upon it. Granted, it did slowly deflate and required a top up of air every four or five days. This will hardly affect most people as these beds are generally bought as an easily packable guest bed or weekend camp bed.

I agree with Tom on this one i bought this EXACT airbed for £4.99 few months ago, used it once and now it deflates as soon as you blow it up even though it has only been used on a carpeted floor!! Good for an emergency sleep over and thats about it!

We have had two of these, a double and a single, along with the electric pump for a couple of years now (from Tesco). Once we worked out to be careful with sealing off the valves properly we've had no problems. They do go a bit soft by the morning but never so much that you're on the floor.
They are pretty flimsy, tho. We've never used them outside the house and I wouldn't expect them to hold up to camping conditions for long.
Overall OK for occasional use - at home.

@ Horror stories:

Just return it for a refund - no place easier to do this than Tesco right ?!

That do you expect for a tenner? These are ideal for this years festivals, you only get about 4 hours sleep a night (max) so these are ideal! Great find, i will send it onto all the fellow festival goers!:)

These are great, kids had one for almost a year and it still works perfect when her friends come to stay.

Hot me thinks.

Not really. They need to be pumped up, which means you also need to buy a footpump (since you won't have access to electrickery), and they're bulky and heavy, which becomes a major factor when the stewards invariably bounce you around every campsite in the village before you throw a fit and set up camp at the furthest possible location from where anything interesting happens.

If you value your festival comfort, thegreententcompany.co.uk have double flock mattresses, (like these but with a built in footpump), for £20. For the extra tenner, you don't have to buy a footpump, and it gets delivered to the festival for you, so you can set up camp then just go and pick it up from their stall at your leisure.

Just been and got a couple of these at lunchtime, as we are planning our first camping breaks this year. I also got an eletric/12v air pump which was on the same stand for £10.

So £30 for 2 double airbeds and a pump didn't seem too bad.

Tesco also have fold away camping tables with integral seats reduced from £27.99 to £18 - I also got one of those. Doesn't appear to be available online, but it is very similar to this one...

we got 2 of the double airbeds from tesco last year. My other half used them when he went to Silverstone- at night he had a lovely pumped up airbed but after about an hour he was laying on the floor- i'd avoid these. You're better off going to the poundshop and buying the foam mattresses from there- at least you'll have a better nights sleep without having to pump up the mattress in the first place!!! AVOID!! don't waste your money.....
