My sister used to work in a cake factory (oh, the stories I could tell you). They made for different supermarkets but M&S orders were different specifications/recipes.

A slight tangent, I know, but I wonder who makes these biscuits for Tesco. I have tons of Cadbury's Dairy Milk from here so I can't/won't buy more chocolate!!

If we listened to workers stories we would eat bugger all...I say that as someone who worked in a pork pie factory many years ago...but after leaving I was back into eating them, but not from that place
I dunno who makes them but they are right up there as my favourite biccys

Yeah my sister worked in a factory that made scotch pies and never ate a single pie from there again - those round pies that have the kinda-grey meat in them once cooked? She said the meaty goo that went into them was purple before they were baked.

Let's not think about it too much, haha.
The chocolate hasn't been as thick on the biscuits, as in the past. Esecially the top left and bottom right biscuits on the front of the box above. Not eaten these Tesco ones recently but had the other branded versions. Gone the same way as Kitkat chunky bars....no longer chunky chocolate!

I actually thought this "Extremely Chocolatey" was a new variety, as I've bought the Tesco Chocolate Biscuit packs before* (?).

Tesco is my local store, albeit Express/Metro stores, so I see a lot of their stock come and go.

Edit: I think we PMed each other about the Axon Elite phone way back when, so, hello again

*Another Edit: Thinking about it - I wonder if Tesco are doing a "Mrs Molly's/Stockwell & Co" rebranding on us and its the same thing with a sexier name on the pack. These are the biscuits of theirs I bought a while ago:38558688-Yppvk.jpg

I believe it's a company called '2 Sister Food Group' 2sfg.com/our…ds/
They had these for 2 for £4 or £5 last christmas (cookies, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and one other assortment?). I bought them but they aren't anything special, I wouldn't buy them again.

Not sure but i'm pretty sure McVities makes the Tower Gate biscuits for Lidl. If you go to Herons they sell Broken Biscuits which are basically a bag full of broken milk chocolate fingers and the address on the packaging is cadburys.

My aunt used to work for McVities and said it was the same production line just different packaging.

They may have slight variations on recipes but the manufacturer of the original is the same as the off brand a lot of the time. Put yourself in the shoes of the manufacturer.... would you want to produce a product that is only sold under a name brand or would you want to produce a product that is sold under a name brand and an off brand thus increasing your profits overall without the majority of the population even knowing? in the eyes of a profit focused company it's a win - win. they get to sell double the product while still maintaining brand integrity.

Hi, hope all is well with you.

My mistake if these are extremely chocolatey. They could well be better than the rebranded ones by M&S and other supermarkets. With the others I think at some point they changed the hexagon style? one. as I vaguely recall the biscuit being fully covered with two tone chocolate. I haven'thad my hands on any since last year. Things could have changed.

I suppose 'extremely chocolatey' could relate to taste rather than the amount of chocolate. Good deal and perhaps someone will report back their findings from sampling some.

I suspect they've done a cheeky rebranding, as the biscuits look the same. Bad Tesco! But it shows you how gullible I am with marketing

They should still be tasty if you've already bought some for self consumption...unless the extreme chocolate has taken a turn for some sort of ultra cheap chocolate or artificial chocolate

Probably I'm a bit late to the party but I have got quite into the Aldi version of Choco Leibniz. Not yet tried the Lidl version even though I visit Lidl stores more often. Both the dark and milk chocolate versions are rather good. The dark chocolate one probably has the edge.

I'm still rather stocked up with Bourbons from a Sainsbury's deal.

Terry's chocolate orange is most definitely turning into a chocolate satsuma as the years go by Go back 50 years and they may have been a 1kg if they get bigger with each year you go back

Soon snack size chocolate bars will disappear becuase the standard size bars are snack size. I thought the Double Decker bar I ate from a 4 pack last week was tiny. People are just going to multi-binge.
A very nice heart attack

No idea why you're asking that question as there's no suggestion these are imperfect or seconds at all. Nope.

Sorry, I meant to ask 'are these the one's you can buy misshapen versions of from Heron?'
I wasn't suggesting that the Tesco one's are seconds. Nor was I dissin' your deal.

I wasn't sure what you meant! Though, the only mis-shapen biscuits I know of are the Cadbury's Fingers mis-shapes (think I've only tried them once - from B&M or Home Bargains - we don't have Heron up here in Scotland - no jokes please, I spelt that correctly). No idea if there's versions of the Tesco biscuits in "broken" form.

These are often 2 for £4 when we get closer to Xmas (and my Express stores discount them even further when the festive season is over) so worth looking out for.

They are indeed. 79p I think! More than happy to have a couple broken in two for that price
