Tesco Finest Aglianico, all the way from Campania. This currently retails on Tesco.com for £9 a bottle but was on sale in my local Tesco for £3.60. It certainly isn't worth £9 but for £3.60 it's OK. It was on the bottom shelf with all the cheap reds.

The deal is that it might be in other stores. Why would the OP want to leave some on the shelf if he knows he is going to drink it? Four bottles of wine isn’t exactly a lot.:{

I can do that in a fortnight, sometimes a week if there's enough footy on.
Is it any good? I'm no snotty nosed get but think it's worth paying 6-20 pounds for a decent red. Quite into Rioja, Chianti and Chateu neuf de pap. Not into blue nun.

I feel that your superior palate might be a bit disappointed with a £3 supermarket bottle of plonk.

It's OK. It's comparable with wines around the £5-6 pound mark but it's nothing special. I can see why they had to drop the price.
Full price in Telford branch

I wouldn't call it superior, I'm into red wine though. You don't need to spend a lot having spent time in France but it's difficult weeding out the quality ones when they're lower in price, hence the question. I could count on one hand how many times I've spent over £15 on one.

Totally agree, it has no real specific qualities one would expect from Campania / Basilicata Aglianico, but still drinkable if rather generic. Personnally i very much prefered the Sainsburys TTD offering Aglianico del Vulture, which was discontinued since then.
