Tesco Finest Whole Kalamata Olives 290g, normally £2.82, but shown on the shelf at my local for £1.58. However they still scan at £2.82. After a trip to customer services, you can get double the difference back, £2.48. So each jar will work out at £0.34!
For some reason the olives were not in their usual spot , but were over at the end of the wine aisle.

Good luck.

a customer service nightmare, I bet they hate when people bother them for stuff like this.

Then they should charge the same price as the shelf labels, surely its not hard to print SELs from the same database as the prices?

asda do similar - if they mess up your bill they give you a £2 store card.... which is fair for the hassle .... but going out to do it on purpose i'm not so happy with ..

there's an argument for that, but at the same time many people (or at least my wife :whistling:) don't check receipts so only know when at home if ever that they've been overcharged, and rarely if ever get the difference back unless it's an expensive item and we/I go out of my way.

Which is a decent enough rationalisation to take advantage of the system once in a while.

Voted cold from me, sure it's a good deal if you can get it, but not every store does it and in some of the stores that do do it, it's a lucky dip i.e. sometimes you will get double the difference, sometimes not.

If they don't offer you double the difference, ask for it!! My wife is a customer service assistant at tescos and she has been told at two different stores that to save money for the store staff should not point out the company policy for double the difference but if the customer asks then they should give it!! Had it done to me at my wifes store but when I complained the woman said oh sorry didn't realise you knew about that, check behind the customer service desk as there is usually a big poster stating the company policy for refunds and mistakes!!

If you look at he practices of any of these chains you should never be ashamed to demand what is due, its not like that don't play you for profit. If they paid someone to check the prices there wouldn't be this issue, but they make more than they lose by not doing so.

I never knew they offered that, is that actually true?

Is it still policy to give double the difference, because they never do when I'm overcharged.
