Tesco is going down the pan.

Tesco has nearly double the market share of the closest rival supermarket. £1.3bn profit recorded in Feb. In what way are they ‘going down the pan’?
A few years ago toy sales were worth waiting for. Argos, Sainsbury and Tesco Direct were all brilliant. Now, meh. They stick a Sale label on and hope we go mad. Yes, a few quid off what we are buying anyway is always welcome, but they forget that we remember how it was not so long ago, we remember.
Yes unfortunately a well known company who dont pay their taxes are taking over due to lack of competition and I suspect the likes of Smyths will soon follow Toys R Us and Tesco Direct which all of course means eventually all competition will be eliminated, leaving no one viable company to price match.
These are the good old days now.
Does anyone know of a toy that looks like a Tesco store manager with a crate of Volvic? I would need something to teach my son arrogance.

Shame there is no direct any more as my closest stores are rubbish
Tesco is going down the pan.
My local store has moved, and reduced, a lot of the electrical and phones section, and unless they're planning on some refurb, there's a massive corner area now with a couple of pallets of £2.50 fence paint, clearance tat etc. just sitting there.

Toys wise, same things as generally everywhere else. Same Lego sets at full price, no real offers etc.
£10 for some large plastic Star Wars Tie Fighter in Asda beats practically everything of theirs at present, and as with a lot of offers, store specific so a lot of wild goose chases!.

There's bound to be something to please though if you like My Little Pony etc.

They closed Direct and other things as they weren’t making any money but they’re still the biggest supermarket by a long way.
Lidl and Aldi are eating into Tesco’s profits which is why they’ve started the Jacks chain to compete with them. I don’t like tesco - overpriced and poor deals.

Me love Asda
My nearest 3 stores toys selection consists of 1-2 aisles of stuff noone buys, hence cobwebs.

Fully agree 80 percent tat and very little Lego etc which will not be half price anyway I think this sale will be titled up to half price.
My local Tesco had the toys already set out in an aisle (separate to the usual toy aisle) so I knew it was coming but didn’t know when. Thanks.

My local Tesco extra used to have one very long aisle full of toys, tgey had a refit and know have one very small aisle with nothing worth buying as it's all more expensive than elsewhere and never any of these yellow sticker price drops that keep getting posted on this site.

Hot deal.... But no actual deal items listed
Will interested so see if anyone posts deals after 12 tonight.
Nothing in the baby section of toys @ Handforth ... I didn't go up to the main toy section level though...
No prices, no evidence of half price, dead link given in the opening post. Nothing but negative comments in the thread.

329deg heat

Just proves that people will vote hot on anything these days!

Check the groceries website, went onto the app and there’s a few things on there for grocery delivery.. half price barbie convertible set, half price Thomas mini set and several others, all offers started today so definitely on, just a shame you have to go into the actual store now
No half price in blackpool
Not in harlow either..

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not an actual offer. I'm just finding it funny people are voting with absolutely no idea of what the deals actually are!

Too right, either guarantee me an Iggle Piggle at my local Tescos for £1 or else I'm voting cold.

These "deals" that start with "My mate who works there had read an internal email which said toxic stock sale" is rubbish if it can't be backed up.

Yeh I agree with you, I was just adding to the op as there’s not much detail there! What really annoys me on here is when people vote hot without realising it’s sold out or that there’s a better deal somewhere else lol. I always look around before I buy anything

Sainsbury's and Asda merger will create the largest supermarket by combined grocery market share. Tesco will move behind to 2nd, but not too far behind.
No toy sale in Edinburgh stores
tesco highwoods had quite a lot half price toys including disney fairies, steffi dolls and playsets, disney princess doll set, fairy garden set some harry potter soft toys etc

I bought the pictured Iggle Piggle in Tesco at lunchtime. It was £12.50 and no suggestion it was reduced in any way. Daughter will love it though!

Have a look in Asda they've got rollback in the toy section.

Got a couple of Paw Patrol things for my daughters 5th birthday later this month

i was monitoring on CamelCamelCamel and Amazon have not come close (yet) on the prices.

Also a few "Walmart only" items which could be nice to get as they wouldn't be available on Amazon.
Sale is on in both stores I have visited,a few decent buys.
Tesco confirmed it starts on the 3rd October
Tesco toy sale starts tomorrow with a number of lines down to 50%. Some examples include:
Peppa Pig 14" plush was £20 now £10
Lego unikitty bucket was £40 now £20
Tesco classic collection was £40 now £20
Huge nerf style foam gun set was £40 now £20

plus many many more, should be national - great to start shopping for Chris**as!!
Nothing up here in Scotland. No sale in Elgin.
Told who?
so much junk in that toy sale...
Nothing in Colney Hatch lane branch yesterday afternoon.
You post a deal and all people do is moan! Amazing
