Tesco HUDL 2 £99 + Clubcard Boost @ Tesco Direct

Tesco have their HUDL 2 available at £99 but if you are a Club Card member and have enough vouchers you can get it for quite a bit less.

Either buy online from Tesco Direct by logging in and it will give you the option to trade in/boost your clubcard vouchers or go to a store and they can do it there for you.

In store you can only double up multiple of £5 (but can still use leftover amounts after that)

Online it will double up the full amount.

For example for me I had £16.50 worth of vouchers which doubled up online to £33 discount. Instore this would have been £30 + £1.50 so it's worth doing it online to squeeze some more out.

The more vouchers you have of course the bigger discount you can get!

The tablet itself is rather nice in my opinion. 2Gb, quite responsive and 8.3" screen. It updated itself right out of the box to Kitkat 4.2 and people are reporting it is being updated to Lollipop (mine hasn't updated yet but only had it a day or two!)

No idea when they finish this offer but if you have a club card and don't use vouchers for anything else it's worth a look to see what you can get it for. Your mileage may vary of course but people with a lot of vouchers could probably get it for a very small amount!

Not really a deal as the base price is still £99. Technology is included in the clubcard boost so applies to more than just the Hudl.

Oh sorry I am new so don't know the ins and outs but I hope this is helpful to some people in case they don't know :-)
No clubcard boost, but can you still get this for £80, if ordered through groceries with new customer code?

Does anyone know if there's going to be a Hudl 3 this side of Christmas? It was rumoured a few months back , but there's not been a squeak for a while.

Did read mention of a hudl 3 being on the horizon but nothing concrete posted online. I wouldn't be surprised if it is released this side of Christmas.

This tablet is by no means shabby imo. Features it has straight out of the box that other more expensive Android tablets don't:

microHDMI to HDMI so that you can mirror what's on-screen on the tablet to a TV

Built-in microSD card slot that will accept 64GB cards despite the blurb saying 32GB

microUSB connector that accepts OTG (on the go) adapters that allow you to connect USB flash drives and playback media etc

Full HD display

Can be rooted
The only thing that is putting me off this is battery life. For the price, specs wise, it's a bargain. Hopefully they'll address battery life with the Hudl 3.
Granted battery life is not its strong point but remember it's quad-core, has a Full HD display and whichever way you look at it...is a budget tablet. You're never going to get as long a battery life as say a Nexus 7 or iPad mini etc but that shouldn't be expected at this price.

Are you sure about that? Looks like just the Hudl and Hudl accessories to me.

anyone got a screen protector on?
responsiveness is very poor with the tesco one - are there any that are decent?
or is the actual bare screen pretty poor as well? not tried that way as its for the monster

I don't know if there is any limit on the amount of vouchers you can boost. As I say, I had a total add up to £33 discount boosted so I got it for £66 total. I assume if you have more vouchers you can get more off or maybe even get it outright in vouchers - maybe someone who understands more about Clubcard purchases can confirm if there's an upper limit or not?

Bare screen seems to work fine for me

You can use as many as you have e.g. you have 50 quids worth of points then this is half price.

Mine now has screen protector on it and still works fine. Some polka dot cover that came with protector off ebay around £5.50 total.

It has also updated to lollipop 5.1. I did a factory delete/reset and it has continued to work quite well.

Overall quite happy with it. To help with battery I turned off location services, disabled all tesco apps where I could as well as things I don't use like Google+ and other apps, also turned off wifi scanning from advanced WiFi settings, brightness to lowest that i found acceptable and turned off any kind of error reporting/feedback stuff I could.

Glad I found this thread... hadn't spent any club card vouchers since last year so they've been stacking up as I use a Tesco Credit Card for my petrol at Tesco garage too. Just ordered 2 x Hudl2, cases and stylus and parted with no hard earned pennies. Got them completely via Clubcard Boost! That's the kids sorted for Christmas :-)
Wanted to get the kids one each for Christmas but no longer in stock online or in our local store. Any comparable alternative available? Preferably with an SD card slot and 7 or 8 inches
Tesco have found some limited stock in a warehouse. Available online now in limited numbers.
Hi

Just picked mine up instore. Really impressed. Total £72 with clubcard boost. (Mine updated lollipop 5.1 during the initial turn on and updating)
