Tesco illuminating kettle £10.00. Figured it would be worth getting for a spare if nothing else.

Actually very good kettle, that has lasted us very well, used to buy expensive kettles however they all seem to fail within a couple of years these days 9max) .. i'd guess we've had this model 18 months so far, very pleased, good price, nice illumination, enough room to get your hand in & sort limescale probs out from time to time.

thanks

Thanks need a new kettle and great price with extra lights yea !! H&R Added

Wasn't quite sure what to expect with a kettle a that price but after your comments, looking forward to its arrival.

I can only but agree with the above comments we wanted a decent kettle and found this in tesco for our new flat, best plastic cased kettle we were able to find. Quite a nice kettle overall and lasting well compared to other cheap ones we have had in the past. Quick boil on a large amount of water is a bit of a push but for one cuppa it boils in moments!

think, i'll get another to store away..

Yep... its a great kettle ( much better than the breville illuminator model i had before this ).
Its a quick boil model too - with a 3kw flat element. This means you can boil as little as one cup of water.

I am sure i paid under £10 for mine though, so they have increased the price dramatically before dropping it back to £10.

And for which reason does it illuminate? So stupid people confused by the presence of steam and the sight of bubbling water actually know it's operating??

Excellent kettle, I bought one last week as a replacement for a Morphy Richards, the Tesco is much better and was less than half the price.
I especially like the fact that it holds a lot more water than most kettles.
