Bought at Tesco Merthyr, 4 left on shelf and plenty of cartridges.
Tesco own brand water filter jug with 1 cartridge £1.55
Looks exactly the same as aqua optima without the logo.
Also: 3 packs of filters cartridges for £2.00 :-)
After opening the box and checking/comparing, it is as good as brita if not better with only the timer feature missing but hey, mark the calandar to know when to replace it! or when it tastes like chlorine again.

So I see, they changed packaging. The green is on clearance.
The blue is new as on label.

These are useless. You get more plastic residues into the water. Just buy a smardy over counter filter for £20. Does a way better job and the waters instant

I am using Big Berkey and the water from it is actually clean. The moment I open the Berkey tap, water flows instantly, given that I remembered to fill it up with 2 gallons the day before ;-)
I then run it via the "brita" to remove chlorine.
One problem, fluoride is not filterable this way. Luckily, in my area - no fluoride :-)

"Brita" type filters do not remove much except for chlorine and scale.

If you are living in any of the fluoride coverage areas, I would avoid tap water altogether. It's a horrible neurotoxin. (see: toothpaste poisoning).

perhaps I should try brita first and than pour into berkey but it would take quite a bit of time to fill up that way.
