These were scanning at 19p a tin last week and are now scanning at 9p a tin. They are the red tins not the value ones. Bought mine in Hastings Extra

Must check it out at my local Tesco.. Come in handy for the pasta.
Thanks for posting the deal OP, but unfortunately Tesco take the Mickey and are taking money from charities. No other supermarket is doing this. Personally think they make enough money and don't need to nick it from charities, who are really struggling at the moment. Boycott Tesco

My opinion - Its free will, Tesco are in their right to choose to do this - hence they are allowed. I wouldn't rather they deducted that amount from employees contributions. However the method they chose might not be ethical from someones perspective but doesn't mean they are breaking the law.....hopefully they find an easier way of helping charities soon
Loads of companies set up sub companies to supply themselves. I don't like Tesco but just about all big companies do it.

It's a way of spreading income, a way of legal tax avoidance. The same way company investors / advisors etc or maybe MP's aren't employed, but for some reason they are gifted hundreds of thousands of pounds.
In a small store many miles away you can get a tin of tomatoes for 9p.

Its not a bad thing I suppose, but hmmm, I feel a litte marginalised
Bought a few to try the other week when they were reduced to 19p. Actually the label was 21p but it scanned at 19p. There was a tall pallet of them in addition to the shelf which they clearly wanted gone in a hurry.

These have a very acidic, metalic smell, it hits you instantly the moment you lift the lid. The taste is fine, but later I did get stomach cramps which I presumed was related. Didn't buy any more, they're back to 35p anyway.
