Tesco: misprice gets you Double The Difference refund, I got 24x Diet Coke for £3.00, 12.5p/ can
Tesco will give you Double The Difference (at Customer Services) for any misprice, ie they refund you the over-charge plus you get the same amount again as a 'sorry'.
Yesterday I got overcharged on 24x Diet Coke - shelf price said £5.50 but I was charged £8.00. So I went to CS and got Double The Difference, making the Coke £3.00, 12.5p/ can.
I didn't face any resistance at all when I mentioned DTD, but if you do get a reluctant CS agent, you could quote Tesco's policy at them: “In the unlikely event that we charge you more than the price shown on the shelf or on the product at the time of purchase, we’ll give you double the difference. So if a customer is charged too much, they can make a Tesco colleague aware and they’ll be happy to help with a double the difference refund.”

The good old days when it was Refund and Retain were amazing!!

No charged £8.
(£2.50 x 2) = £5
£8 - £5 = £3
He paid £8. Over charged by £2.50 so he got £5 back.
Let us know what they said.
HAHA! Yes, tell them to fix it before you get there
Not as Asda was they, it clearly says Tesco
I have never had a free item from Asda?
Didn't read the thread then?
I haven't had a DTD for ages but I still scrutinise the fresh meat on offer at the end of the isles and then look for the same meat but in non promotional packaging 1/2 price ones are free with DTD. They do get touchy about those and if it's a Sunday or bank Holiday you can't ring CS and they know it, I had to abandon an attempt on a Sunday but rang up monday and they refunded me.
Yes, I've had dtd loads of times but it's not a deal.
Yeah me too.
True more a misc than a deal.
Are you definitely sure about this? Don't understand why you wouldn't be able to get DTD back if you go through a self-scan till?
Agreed but whereas in previous years mods would move it there, now they leave pretty much everything here.
So do the posts that get moved to misc, either leave them all or move them all. I wasn't complaining, just stating facts
You can get dtd when paying at self service or scan as you shop. Tesco staff will always try to wriggle out of giving it to you, just stand your ground and threaten to ring customer services.
Asda refund the error and give you £2 on a giftcard.
Those were the days, had a free tv and Sony PSP out of that!
Say to cs your berries are off, hand off your receipt and bingo.
Of course, they've got to give you the extra you've paid back, but then they're only taking the difference off the original price making the coke £3, so it's not double, IMO
My best was a a Karcher K2 and patio/car kit. Charged 199.99. Was 99.99 on the ticket. I was paid 2p to take it away. Was a fight with store but CS took my side.
Yeah I managed a PSP! Straight to CEX that went! Loads of Xbox and PS games too!
11 years! Crazy!
I think it's more than likely DonaldMcGill2 will carry on his merry way, completely oblivious to your life changing teachings, and his obvious shortcomings in intelligence and comprehension.
Free PC: Took it back. Got my refund and upgraded it to a flat screen and better spec on the one they got wrong the next day!
CD's galore!
Mobile phones and stereo systems.
Edam cheeses, value cheddar (1p/Kg error) and meat filled the freezer.
Xbox 360, Sony PSP.
I was good at spotting the errors and the little lady on the CS desk at Bristol Eastgate used to roll her eyes and say what have you got now when I was down there for 6 weeks on a training course!
Got 2 cases of 24 Cokes three nights in a row because they just didn't fix the errors!
