Possible misprices at tesco.com on some pre-order Blu Ray boxsets.

Lost - Season 4 is being sold for £29.97 and the RRP is £67.99 giving a saving of £38.32, so over half price, which you don't usually see on a pre-order.

The second is the Starship Troopers 1-3 Boxset which is selling for £16.17 while it's RRP is £59.99!

jersey.tesco.com/pro…DVD

The page doesn't actually list them as Blu Ray but thats the same for all of Tescos blu rays which are all classed as DVD's on the product page but at the same time are found in the blu ray section of the website.

Woolworths also seem to have ridiculously low prices (although a little higher than Tesco) and they do list the items as Blu Rays on the product page.

Either way if they aren't mispriced then they're great savings.

Starship troopers sounds about right, not sure on lost tho.

Lost....ARTWORK TBC !!

the Starship Troopers box set sounds cheap to me. Lost sounds about right, it was a short season because of the writers strikes.

why would you want starship troopers movies anyway :s...

2 & 3 are straight to dvd's , B - Movies. If the price is a mistake i will eat my own head.

Love the 1st one!

Lost has been £32.97 on amazon, dont know if it still is, if so its only £3 diffrence

On Amazon, Lost Season 4 is 29.99 to pre-order on DVD, but the Blu-ray is £44.98 so it's a saving on that IF Tesco do have the BluRay version for that price. (Not that I'd know, I don't even know what Blu Ray is!).

Ordering the DVDs though for hubby's birthday as we missed most of season 4.

interesting, thanks! we're big LOST'ers in my house:thumbsup:

hot deal! Lost was around the same on Amazon a while bak,but a lot more now...cheapest around so hot hot hot!

Can't believe the heat of this deal - there is no way they are misprices, dunno what planet you are on. Standard prices. you might save a few pence but not a lot more. cold.

Lost is only half a season, which is why it's seems so cheap. Heroes Season 2 is same sort of price.

Lost is a full season, just that it's fifteen episodes.

I'm not saying your wrong but could you provide link's please? Remember these are Blu Ray!

I've probably missed it but where does it say that Lost is blu-ray?

In the pic, and the cat number is for bluray.

dont think the lost series is blu-ray!! its under the dvd section only the Artwork shows blu-ray & thats showing as artwork to be confirmed!!

guys the starship troopers deal is awesome. the first film is a cult classic and is getting really good scores across the board for its blu ray release.

whats more its 3 blu rays for £17, you realise starship troopers 1 and 3 are both about £17 apiece?

This is the same box set released on the same day for £45. Awesome deal, was just looking to buy the first one on its own today as well.

If I was greedy I would order loads and try to fleece them on ebay, but this is such a big price difference I'll be happy if they just honour the one.

and if you're worried if its the bluray version or not, do a search for the title and select the one which says blu ray (there is no DVD version of this box set)

Nope, it's in the blu ray section. Just do a search for 'Lost Fourth' and then narrow the search by selecting blu ray. Its the only one that remains. And like I said in my OP all tesco blu rays say 'DVD' on the product page where it says format but are actually located in the blu ray section. Not sure if this will work but...

i think what the op means is yes its the whole of series 4 but its a lot less episodes than normal for lost due to the writers strike so it should be cheaper when you consider season 3 had 22 episodes!!

Lost is a full season, just that it's fifteen episodes.

Usually around 24 though. Means 2 or more less discs than usual. ;-)

I am pretty sure "Adamo" was replying to the person before him who said it was only half a season. He was just saying no, it is a full season but it is just 15 episodes without launching into detail about writers strikes etc.

Yep, so it must be because of the fewer episodes or Amazon is just trying to match it's competitors on price. Still a good deal considering the cheapest you can get the normal DVD set is £29.99. So if you have a blu ray player it's worth spending the extra £8.

But The Starship Troopers box set is still dead cheaper than it‘s competition. Only a pound more than the DVD set!

Lost: The Third season got 5\5 stars for it's HD picture quality so Season 4 is likely to have the same kind of transfer. I say this because some blu rays aren’t worth the difference in cash because the picture quality isn’t much different from the DVD but in this case it’s likely to be far superior. Here’s that part of the review for Season 3 (I'll post season 4 when it becomes available).

The Video: Sizing Up the Picture Perfect. Stunning. Amazing. Those are … The Video: Sizing Up the Picture Perfect. Stunning. Amazing. Those are just a few of the words to describe the video quality of this 'Lost' Blu-ray set. The 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 transfers exhibit a breathtaking clarity and detail far beyond anything possible on standard DVD, and even significantly superior to the show's 720p broadcasts on the ABC network. Presented in the 16:9 aspect ratio of the episodes' original HD airings, the image is extraordinarily sharp, with no distracting edge enhancement or digital compression artifacts. Every blade of grass on the island, every stubble in Jack's beard, each one of Kate's freckles, and all the skin pores of every actor are visible in striking detail, even in medium and long shots. Colors are vibrant and bold. The contrast range is crisply delineated from inky blacks to bright whites, with an exceptional sense of depth in every scene. A minimal amount of film grain is present in some scenes, but it has been well digitized and compressed to retain the proper film-like textures without looking noisy. The show has outstanding, feature film-quality photography and lighting, and all the lovely island scenery certainly helps to make 'Lost' the best-looking series on television, and now one of the best-looking releases in all High Definition media. Note that as the show's opening title flies past the screen, the brief bit of artifacting visible on the letters is a flaw of the title animation itself, not a problem with the disc transfer. That issue has been present in every network broadcast and DVD release.
