This is a great deal for Tesco, as the 12 month contract is the same but with only 500 mb internet

You can add a cap to this sim,for free. Contact tesco after receiving the sim and they will make sure you never go over your allowance. If you do want to use more than your limit you'll need to topup first. Once you have done that maybe give this sim as a gift to someone special, as knowing you'll never pay any more than £10 month will give you peace of mind.

Virgin's deal is much better with extra 700 mins for 80pence more: hotukdeals.com/dea…298

That is quite good as giffgaff has changed from unlimited to 1gb. Same O2 network.

Says 12 month contract on their site.

leemg3 read it properly says 30 day contract (i can also let you borrow my specs)

Three all-you-can eat for £12.90 is the best for those, wanting truly unlimited broadband.
Tescos coverage for H+ broadband is poor compared with three.

Or £15 for 1000 mins mobile / uk and 5000 texts, 2gb data rolling month contract

What network does 3 use for voice calls? I can only really pick up a good signal on the O2 network where I live which is why I use Tesco but their 3G access is pretty poor.

I've had this deal, on a 30 day contract, for over a year. Very reliable. N.B. You do get charged for voicemails.

3 use 3 oO

3 uses 3 for 3g and orange/tmob for 2g. if you are on 2g with three, you will not get data, just voice and texts

3 is great for data but general signal and call quality is abysmal in North and central London. Probably because they do not have any 2G fall back capability, just 3G/hspa only. Weirdest thing I've experienced on 3 is if you are on a call and someone suddenly answers their mobile closeby, there is a good chance your call will drop lol.

No, if the main thing you're bothered about is "truly unlimited broadband", you ought to go with giffgaff, as theirs is £12 for 250 mins, unlimited texts and data, whereas 3's all you can eat is £12.90 for 200 mins, and unlimited texts and web. The only thing being you might find that 3's data network is faster, but I have no idea. I went for GiffGaff as the extra 50 minutes and the 90 pence off seemed like a winner to me

Interesting discussion about tethering.
Don't forget about £20 offer from topcashback

anyone know if i can get this deal on a nano sim card?

Is this for iPhone?

No it isn't for iPhone/NanoSIM/Blackberry. They're seperate on the Tesco Contract system.

you can take sim only out, and once you receive you can ask for whichever sim you want, ive asked for a nano sim for my iphone 5

Better than Orange/T-Mobile combined?

Agreed this is a good deal, ideal for teenagers who would otherwise spend cash on `pay as you go` and you can cap it to the base SIM price.
Tesco is a `virtual network` (a bit like Virgin or Giff Gaff) and (like Giff Gaff) they use the O2 network.
I jumped from O2 to Tesco about 18 months ago to a fantastic deal including a Galaxy S2 (which O2 wanted to charge me nigh on £100 for) and haven't looked back.
I set up a second SIM (you get bonuses for this, more so if you have a phone with it) and capped it for my daughter.
The only thing is that I keep finding myself wondering if the Tesco Club Card points are being added correctly (I think they are, but it's not clear).
Hope this helps.

I wish people would just give it a rest about mobile coverage...

I really couldn't care less what it's like in Leicester or Edinburgh, it's utterly, utterly irrelevant to me and the 99% of other people who don't live near the same mast you do...

Make sure you dont fall for the 'iphone' version of the exactly the same contract except the iphone one will be £2.50 more. The iphone aspect of the contract is having the ability to use BT openzone, which for me in 3 years has never once been possible so id much prefer to pay £30 less per year & not have it.

Virgin uses T-mobile. Horses for courses.

Virgin is still a far much better deal!

Is it 10 because at the moment theyre charging me 10.21 since the VAT raise.

Have some heat - a great find.

Is this for iPhone?

yes it is.

Perfect, just spoke to online chat and they've sorted me out with this from my next bill.

I was an existing customer with 400 mins, loads of texts (but no internet) on a 1 month contract

Thank you! very happy

Tesco/O2 have far better customer service than Virgin or 3 (according to which magazine). I was looking to move to the Virgin tarrif, but decided against it based on Customer service. Despite the two glitches with service this year, I will stay with tesco, whom by the way beat O2 on price (despite using their network)

Giffgaff is much better but a serious shame they stupidly are increasing the price from 10 - 12 for unlimited

How can you say that Giff Gaff is better than Tesco? GG are well known for their poor customer service. Tesco have won Which awards for their phone service. Both are on O2.

Edited by: "ramraideruk" 24th Nov 2012

which network is better, really depends on where you live and what you want from the service. I have used tesco on contract and currently have this 30 day rolling contract on my iphone, it is essentially o2 but without the rewards and cheaper. service has been great -
