Ovivo left us high and dry, all looking for another great deal. I stumbled onto this after a bit of searching:

Ok so its a 24mth contract but Its a great package for only £7.50 a month.

250mins
5000 texts
500mb data

you can also add more data, texts or minutes for FREE if you buy more than one of these contracts.

also a decent budget phone for "FREE" to choose from

eg...SONY XPERIA E....SAMSUNG GALAXY YOUNG (white OR blue)...also BLACKBERRY CURVE for the Android Haters.

nothing will ever be as good as Ovivo for price but at least this is better than GiffGaff

If you have more than one Tesco monthly contract, you can take advantage of the ‘Family Perks’ each month you can choose an extra (150mins or 250MB or 500mins to Tesco phones) ontop of your regular allowance. That means you can have a total of 400mins or 750MB or just choose the 500 extra minutes to Tesco phones (you can change a perk every month).

Good deal, my 24 month contract expires in June, hope deals like this around then :-).
BTW re OVIVO...have you read this week's news? OVIVO have closed without warning! bbc.co.uk/new…929

The contract itself isn't bad for the price, shame its a crap phone!

I was on OVIVO so now i'm gonna get this and give the phone to my daughter, she has smashed 2 moto G's in 10 weeks and they cost more to fix than to buy...now she can have this crappy phone as punishment

Have a search on the site, theres 12 phones to choose from including a Blackberry Curve if you prefer.

Samsung Galaxy Y must be worst smartphone in history.

I assume the sim will work in any unlocked phone.

only 100mb allowance though.

Nah giff gaff is cheaper and no contract........

Galaxy y or the Experia E?

A few phones at this price, I went for the LG L3 II (to sell on). Yes sim will work in any unlocked phone but you have to manually add APN settings for internet, I used this for mine: geeksquad.co.uk/art…ngs, as I couldn't find on Tesco.

Listing the Galaxy Y in your 'hot' contract deal killed it for me.

What's your opinion on Experia E and LG L3 II? This contract is fine for the Mrs. and the phone is a bonus (She uses an old non internet jobbie at moment so doesn't need anything amazing)

Good deal... Neither are great phones but go for the Xperia E in this case... Both 512mb ram but £7.50 monthly can hardly complain! Get the contract, sell phone then buy Moto G ... :-)

I think there's some confusion here over the Samsung model offered. It's not the Galaxy Y, which is an old phone with Android 2.3 and a crude 320 x 240 display, but the Galaxy Young, with Android 4.1 and a 480 x 320 screen.

NO NEED TO SHOUT but good deal for non-excessive users.

mentioning the Experia E in description makes this deal for me, but I'm sticking to payg for now.

thinking about making the switch to contract. wheres the best place to compare? a hundred mins and a few hundred texts a month would do me but want the best handset i can get for around £10-15 a month

Good deal if only for the sim, just sell the phone on for a few £££

I'm an android fan which is WHY I voted this cold - those are two of the worst Android phones you could buy... seriously poor - both phones don't have remotely enough space for apps and will quickly start complaining at updates. The Xperia E is also VERY laggy (I have one as my work phone and am seriously regretting it). For that sort of money you're better off with a ZTE or Huawei...

Just want to point out that there's a large difference between a Galaxy Y and a Galaxy Young

gsmarena.com/com…280

Nothing stopping you finding the phone that sells for the most at CEX and then putting the sim into an unlocked iPhone. Very cheap contract that way. Hot

It is worth noting that Tesco uses the o2 network - so you get a very high quality service as well as a bargain price

do you get the tesco name on your homescreen if you are on their tariff?

You chose the wrong phone to sell on, the LG L3 cost £45 to buy @ Tesco, the Samsung Galaxy YOUNG costs £60.

I have just moved all my family to Tesco on a £7.50 contract, 250mins, 5000Texts & 750mb Data and they all get the Samsung Galaxy Young for FREE.

My daughters already have the LG L3 in white at xmas, now they have the choice of the Young, the Galaxy Young has a better resolution screen compared to the L3. Its easily noticeable when both phones are side by side, the Young has a 320 x 480 display where the LG L3 II has just 240 x 320 display.

So which phone is best, Samsung Galaxy Young, LG G3 II or the Sony Experia E?

lookatmywad

Samsung Galaxy Y must be worst smartphone in history.

Its not the Galaxy ‘Y’ its the Galaxy ‘Young’ completely different and a much better phone.

i went for the xperia e. going to sell it along with my current phone and get a moto G to chuck the sim into

1st Sony Experia E
2nd Samsung Galaxy Young
3rd. LG L3 II

The Sony would be the slightly better phone, but it only comes in black @ Tesco. The Samsung Galaxy Young in the colour white seems to have many fans with boys and girls, would be easier to sell on.

Fair enough, I just went off the Amazon reviews on a couple of phones, didn't look at the Samsung though, as an Ovivo victim I was in a bit of a rush.

Lol We are also Ovivo Victims oO thanks to Ovivo it now looks like Carphone Warehouse in our front room.

I have the 5”Archos 50 Dual Sim Platinum, so my little Galaxy Young will sit in my desk along with my Huawei Y300. X)

BRING BACK OVIVO

Galaxy y or the Experia E?

Xperia E without a doubt.

no one should put themselves through these phones. you will be stuck with a 24 month sim only and have to buy another phone.

it's a deal until you've bought 4 more of the same handset over the 2 years

I've been on that contract for 2 years now, got it for the sim and sold the phone. Sim works in any unlocked phone and I beleive O2 phones (Tesco use O2s masts). My contract runs out this month so gonna sign up for another 2 years and sell the phone again.
