Tesco Mobile Nokia Lumia 920 Black for £152.10 with code
TDX-KH4C. Plus 152 Tesco clubcard points. And possible 5.05% cashback through Topcashback.

Credit to Kneale81 for the code (go quickly as I am sure this code will expire soon)

Phone is UNLOCKED, even though the Box has stickers saying it is locked to the Tesco network. So a quite a decent saving over having to pay for the 'SIM Free' Version.

My wife got this phone to replace an iPhone (unfortunate toilet incident - don't keep phones in your back jeans pocket).

She now prefers the 920 to the iPhone, and she loved that iPhone.

Is this phone "locked" to Tesco. I would buy & swap sim but have 3 contract.

How is the Nokia Lumia 920 vs the Motorola Moto G?

Good price. I went right off Nokia after the shockingly bad N97 and vowed never to go back to them. Now they are only using the windows os they've made that decision sooo much easier for me. But that's just my opinion. My mum uses windows phones and is probably due to upgrade, so I'll bring her attention to this deal, but I'm adding heat for the price, not the phone

Bargain, this is going to get scorching Hot!

It is far superior to the Moto, and that's actually a good phone. Nokia is 4G too.

What's the return policy like?

Thanks

Two of my friends bought this phone, and even though it says it's locked to Tesco on the Box, both were open to all networks.

it's also available at £199 (-10% code) unlocked

Mine was also branded Tesco on the box, but was unlocked....

Hot deal!

Got the yellow 920 a few months back during the last deal. This is a steal! Great phone with a great camera (1080p recorded videos look amazing).

Only downside is the Windows 8 OS which is still in its early phase so don't expect much from the app store but all the major players are involved: Facebook, whatsapp etc

Cant decide on this or the 16GB Moto G

This LOOKS a great buy, and should be, but be aware. I have an 820 and loved it. I have had to return it because the screen is now blank. I watched as it progressed through Tesco Phone Repair and it said that they were trying to contact me. After three days and 2 undeliverable emails using their contact address I called them and was told that it was out of warranty (bought May 2013). They then decided that it was because I had not sent proof of purchase, but after looking again they found the receipt. Then it was internal damage but they noted that there was no damage to the case or outside screen. I have not decided whether that is immaculate conception or internal combustion, however they are holding an investigation which will take 2 days, but have told me that their decision is unlikely to change. They will not provide a copy of the engineers report. They are prepared to return it to warranty for £130 when for just £22 more I can get this far superior phone. I think I should buy this pending their investigation. Thanks OP.

imho battery life may be an issue.. currently on a moto g 8gig. which manages to last a day or over depending on use.
having said that i like windows os, and the nokia apps/maps/cameras... tough choice..

Living up to your nickname. I would add, dumb to it though.

Can get on tesco anytime upgrade for £12.50 (£3.25 phone cost = £78) for those who are already with tesco mobile.

This phone is also free on 24 month contract for £12.50 per month at Tesco

I bought this the last time this went scorching and was using Ovivo until they went t*ts up. Got the £6.90 deal from 3 and have to say it's been excellent, five bar reception in my office (never had that before, office is in Bracknell by the way) and can actually make calls at home without having to hang out of the window or going into the garden.... so far so good.

So just to confirm it's unlocked.

I thought Nokia phones have 24 months warranty? Is Tesco an authorised Nokia Repairer as perhaps you should take it to one of those instead. You could also contact Nokia for advice. An expensive phone like this is expected to function for more than 1 or 2 years. Especially when there has been no accidental damage.

Does anyone know if there is a version of the Google Play Music app for Windows Mobile? This looks like a great deal but use Play for all my music so would be screwed without it...

I can't answer that question ...but you should try Nokia Mix radio

If it is locked can you unlock them easily?

phone isn't actually free on the 24 month deal. it's £3.50 a month on top of the £9 call contract. Works out at £83 ish for the phone which you can pay off at any time and just have the £9 contract. I got one on that deal.Phone is very good, very well made. great camera 32Gb memory (not expandable), Nokia off line maps and navigation great and free streaming music from Nokia too. Battery life nothing special, phone is heavy and the app store is poor. Win 8 itself is actually very good.

They're not locked. It might say Tesco Mobile on the outside of the box - but they're definitely not locked to Tesco.

thanks op you have finally tempted me away from my iphone

is the cover interchangable?

I'm tempted too. I wasnt looking for a new phone but have had an old iphone for ages.

What sim does this take? Guessing it's the micro? And it's def sim free even tho will say tesco payg?

Moto G v Nokia is not phone v phone debate but operating system v windows 8 . When Virgin offered me a good contract and pocket size Nokia 620, I put up a lot of effort and time to learn windows 8 . I say windows 8 is as unnatural to human brain as quantum physics and very hard to link up and make it work smoothly with other systems and devices . My experience is like playing one of those superior video games which is very good but not quite my type . Altrnative would have brought different problems . My wife saw my effort as struggle and went for Moto G and is very happy and comfortable with it .

I've had iPhones from day one, they are just not exciting me enough now, sold my iPhone since ordering this for £100 so great value. Its going to be a bit of a pain loosing iMessage and FaceTime but i have them via other devices anyway.

Looking forward to a change

My wife is as non-technical as they come but has no problems with Phone 8.
