When applying you would need to put in the correct income figures as they will as for payslips or bank statements confirming your salary.

On other cards they would just approve you on the basis of your credit rating.

I didn't have to supply anything other than a credit check.

I do not know what is new about this, I have got this credit card around six months ago. No change that I notice ...

tempting, need to buy a new car. Anyone know what cc points equate to cash / voucher wise? Is there a limit?

The change is the extension of the 0% on purchase length which has been increased since the 1st July 2013 from 0% for 16 months on purchases to 0% for 18 months.

Mines definitely 18 months and I got it in January. OP it's worth mentioning you get more points when using it on Tesco items - £4 gets you 5 points.

Yeah, but you get four of those however you pay using a standard clubcard. Fairly misleading to frame it like that. Plenty of other cards with better earning rates when shopping at Tesco.

I never needed to provide wage slips etc? Never heard of that neither. Thats the point of credit checks, to insure youre a 'good risk'

I didn't have to give my payslip but my brother got asked to do it lol

They run a referral thing 1000 points for the referral and referee if anyone wants to do this I am happy to send £5 via PayPal once the points are in

Does anyone know if you can have two Tesco credit cards at the same time? I already have a Tesco CC (which I could cancel, but then would presumably have to wait a while to reapply)

It said during the signup process that you can't apply if you already have one.

Must wait 6 months after cancelling a card before reapplying.

Interesting

I just cleared off balance and closed an existing tesco credit card and was told that I won't be able to reapply for a tesco card for 12 months. But apart from that it's a good deal.

I already have two credit cards that I don't use (much) but my 0% time has ran out on those. If I got this then cancelled it after 18 months would it hurt my credit score at all? Providing I keep up with payments, etc, etc. Or do people do this all the time and I'm just behind with the times?

tesco credit card 1000 clubcard points

hello if you want me to refer you to get 1000 tesco clubcard points let me know

I can send you a pre filled out form just add your details and post to free post address
I've referred 5 people in the last 2 weeks and the points go on 3 days after tesco receive the form

I applied for this card about 2 years ago when its offer was only 13 month 0% on Purchases, My application was declined first with their 60 second computer credit check answer, I appealed and after sending Tesco Bank my P60, some Bank Statements, Pay Slips, Council Tax Bill, My application was finally accepted for £3800 credit limit and after 6 month changed to £4700,
Used the card to pay for most of our shopping, bills, fuel, car insurance, and Council Tax,
Ended up with huge amount of cash in my current account, Then used the spare cash in 5 years fixed ISA from Halifax at 4.5% free interest, was great, I paid in full when the 0% ended and closed the account last October.
I applied 3 weeks ago for the 16 month 0% (after more than 6 month), and my application was declined again with the stupid computer credit check, so I appealed again and sent Tesco Bank some evidence of my income, etc.with the letter and waiting for the answer, If successful (I hope) I think I will have the longer 18 months 0%, so fingers crossed.
My advice is for people how are being declined to try and complain to Tesco bank before you apply for another credit card and effect your credit score, and send them a letter about your circumstances if you have at east (Fair Credit Score) and can prove your income, always in credit in your bank account etc. and you believe there is no reason to be declined and you never missed to pay a bill and have a good credit history in the last 5 years.
The address is on their letter you will get by post after a few days of declining your application, give it a go and don't give up!
I've seen today on MSE there's a new credit card with 0% on Purchases for 16 month "Fluid" , easier to get with poorer credit, I will personally try this one if I was declined again from Tesco Bank. link:

If anyone took advantage of this offer and would like 1000 Clubcard points, I can recommend them.

Please PM me.
