Worst pet insurance

Why? Need help as it's a mine field out there !
Some say get it others say save i.e. Tenner a week in case but when saved a nice deal on UKHD comes along oO

Do they need proof of ownership or can I lose a pet that didn't exist?

why?

I would personally only look at premier cover here as it's the only one that looks like a 'for life' policy. For example, if your dog has a heart condition, that premier policy looks like it would cover their treatment until the day they die. The other levels look like that condition would be excluded after 12 months, meaning you'd foot the bill after that. Maybe worth calling and checking before you take out the policy.

No I am serious.I have a pet slug in a jar called Josh. I would be devastated if he got lost. I just wondered if my neighbour found him would he be able to collect the reward of £200 after I spent £800 on advertisements?

But don't they just put the premiums up by a ridiculous amount? And you have to keep on paying the ridiculous amount so that they'll keep on paying out on the first claim?

yes you are right

Someone saying they've still not had cashbook 5 months after buying.

Check out the DEFAQTO website. It reviews ALL financial products from insurances (home, car, pet) to credit cards etc. They rate each product (policy type) out of a maximum 5 Stars.....I use it in conjunction with price comparison sites' results & cashback websites

I've used M&S's highest cover & John Lewis highest cover pet insurance for our cats, as they include the Vetfone service where one can talk directly to a vet nurse 24/7 365. I then switch between them every year, when the high renewal prices come through the letterbox.

Note, that having worked in insurance; the people who NEED the insurance the most are the one who say they cannot afford the insurance........in which case even the cheapest insurance from ANY insurer is better than NO Insurance!

Yes, I haven't received Quidco from another Tesco banking product and they don't allow investigations by Quidco.

Is there not a time period at the start of a new policy where there is no cover?
For example.... if your pet is a bit unwell, you phone up, get it insured, and then 2 days later take your now sick pet to the vet.....
I thought there was an initial period where you could not claim to prevent this happening?

With my House insurance, there was some legal cover (for disputes with neighbours, employment issues etc....)
One year I was suddenly made at risk of redundancy .....and I suddenly remembered this legal cover on my house insurance - phoned them up, only to find I was not covered if the problem occurred within the first 6 months of cover......
Like you, I shop around and get the cheapest car and house insurance (and cash back via Quidco etc)..... but then found on some aspects (such as this legal service) because of my switching insurer each year, I was not actually covered for 6 months out of 12.

We had no problems with the claims service when we unfortunately lost our cat, however they managed to remove both cats from the policy instead of just the one. This was rectified with no problems, however wasn't really appreciated when going through an emotional time losing a pet anyway.

In relation to quidco though, I've given up with them and use topcashback for everything. I've had too many non payments and wrong amounts which were not sorted
