store specific deal

I got some in Whitstable, not store specific.

I apologize

i bought some for 50p last week, not sure if its the same ones that are now on at 37p (kodak) either way, good price...heat added

Superbly cheap land fill fodder Avoid !!

They wont power anything that needs a reasonable voltage like digital cameras and last just seconds in things that don't.

Sorry OP, But Cold

Gun

Used these kinda batteries (Zinc Chloride or something) in an LED light for camping and it lasted all week no probs.

They are useless in devices that require constant high power but remotes etc they will be fine in for a good time.

I've two in my mouse, it's still working , a man I was chatting to in the store had used them for a while for his kid's toys said they last as long as the £1 ones in Poundland etc.

what a rubbish deal

false economy

I put 4 of these in my digital camera a few months back and managed 4 photos before they went flat

they are 37p for 10 - find them cheper, no you will not - it is a hot deal for what they are. No they wont power my car or my drill either and they are not suppose to, they are basic batteries, can you not see that, dunno why the op bothered to post with comments like these.

Just been to bristol tesco - no such deal exists. voted cold

That's not a surprise - these cheap zinc chloride cells only work for low power applications and occasional use. 4 pictures in a row is just too much energy at once, and the current demand is also too high. They are ok for remotes, clocks, smoke alarms etc - and they may store better (up to 10 years) than the more powerful alkaline cells. But be careful: they can leak when drained.

I still find it bizarre people buy single-use batteries. Get rechargeable ones!

Yeah rechargable batteries are the panacea aren't they.... NOT

Up until recently rechargeables discharge over time, memory effect means they don't last forever, AA rechargables are normally 1.2v not 1.5v

Rechargables are great in high demand devices that run the batteries down in hours but for any length of time forget it they're useless.

Personally I bulk buy Procell AA's from ebay (professional version of Duracell) they cost very little and are excellent. I then couple these with the C and D "sleeves" that turn AAs into those size batteries and then only ever need to pick up the odd AAA as necessary AAs do everything else.
