Good for leaving under the sink or in the glove compartment.

Whether you are on a camping trip in the wilderness or chilling in the garden or garage then this is a great product - you don’t need to be tied to a mains supply with the Tesco value RAD-306 wind-up radio. The RAD-306 requires 2x AA batteries, but if you've got no batteries, you can wind it up with the handle provided. The Tesco value radio has an analogue AM/FM tuner and features both a built-in speaker and a headphone socket. Other features include a stylish silver design and a useful carrying strap

Judging by DAB in its present incarnation, I'd say stick with FM. Future DAB incarnations are too far away to affect a decision over this deal. Current DAB is absolute rubbish, future DAB should be good, but it's not close enough for me to concern myself over it.

Great price and I agree - the DAB radio I have isn't the best. Give me a cheapie FM radio any day

Thanks OP! Just ordered one for Collection...

FM is the future

Radio 3 uses a much higher bit rate than other stations, giving better sound quality. Classic FM and Virgin also use a higher bit rate, whilst Radios 1, 2, 4, 6 Music and 1 Xtra use more efficient audio coders. These stations have a sound quality similar to average FM. Most other DAB stations have a noticeably poorer sound quality than FM.

DAB is pants

Good old BBC lol. When they started broadcasting their T.V in HD they promised to 'exceed' the european standard for HD quality. They still have yet to offically meet it X) . Nice one beeb
