How many old brick mobiles do you have cluttering up YOUR house?

Thinking "maybe it will come in handy one day" or "just in case"

Well forget that, and send them to tesco! Charge it up and send the phone off in the special envelope available in-store (freepost) write you're address and clubcard no's on the enclosed slip and put it in the envelope with the phone (not the charger, just phone) and post!

You will get 300 points per phone sent, which is worth £12 in deals. When I heard about this I sent 3 old rubbishy phones in (one was 4 yrs old!!) that were just sitting in a drawer, sure enough I have had 900 points added to my account (took about 3 weeks) which is worth £36 in deals! ! Better than nothing eh???

See : tesco.com/gre…age

ALSO NEW: Tesco have launched an ONLINE service, the same idea, but depending on the make and model of YOUR mobile, you could also get £70 in Tesco gift cards as well.. for example my last mobile is a Samsung U600 and I am going to recycle that, for this model I would get the points, plus £40 in Tesco gift cards as well !

And just to make it better, if you switch to tesco mobile at the same time as recycling YOUR old mobile you get £5 free credit!!

So... the worst that could happen is you get the free clubcard points, the best is the clubcard points plus £70 in Tesco vouchers. You can check out how much YOUR phone is worth and then decide if you want to or not... what do you have to loose?

you get 50 points for broken ones

£3 pounds for a mobile phone?!? Even £12 using the deals is not a good deal.
You can sell them at CEX for more. Voted cold

If the old phones you have sitting around are only a few years old and still get reasonable money at CEX etc then go for it. However, some people might have phones that are are almost 10years old. I know I've got an old Nokia 6210 and 3210 as well as a slightly older Ericsson (before they were bought by Sony) brick of a phone. Phones of this age will probably get next to nothing at CEX and so Tesco would be the next best thing

Exactly Cuddy !!!!!

Tesco for me then. Thanks cuddy

Sorry to be an old stick-in-the-mud but it's "your" mobile, not "you're". Unless technology has evolved that much...!:whistling:

Hi guys, I have a question, I know it's got nothing to do with this deal,
is anybody received new clubcard from Tesco? I've just received it today, and I wonder, what happen to the old one, can we still use it? what about the point? any idea? thanks

Elves.. use you're new one, take old one to Tesco store, there is a special recycle bin in the store, post you're old clubcard in that and you might win 1000 free points !

from what i've heard about the new clubcards, is that a recycling box will be instore where old ones can be posted and you get green points by doing so.

No doubt Tesco are about to setup an urban mining concern...

Cex are rubbish, they buy stuff off you for peanuts, and then sell it for more than you can get it brand new elsewhere, with only a minimal amount of shopping around required. They also say one thing on the website then try to tell you something else in store. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!

Tesco on the other hand - hot deal! Far easier than the hassle of sticking them on ebay for a few measly extra quid and a ton of gyp from scammers!

This deals been around for ages and discussed many times. Cold cold cold

this is old news for Tesco fanatics. Be aware only 5 mobiles/ household/ year. Also many people have not been awarded points, even sending them in recorded delivery. If you can get hold of the old envelopes, they were worth 500 points each.
Ink cartridges are 100 points each, 30/year.

I'm afraid I'm voting cold too - its an old deal and has been posted several times.

I'm voting cold too - if the phone is working the difference is NOT "a few measly quid" on Ebay, its actually quite a lot. For example, £30 for a U600 at Tesco Reycling - but you can get £50 on Ebay for a used one. The only reason i would try this Tesco thing is if the phone was broken, and before anyone says anything about it being greener to recycle, surely passing your phone onto another person to actually use is the enviromentally thing to do rather than whoever Tesco sells em to using energy and man hours to process them into scrap.

good deal, i think ive got an old nokia that is 11years old...

£54 for a k85i

voted cold

No it's nothink to do with mobile points, but was does the worth £12 in deals mean? I thought 300 points was £3 lol

I've got a nokia 1610 the old brick it was my first mobile i had in 1989 way before payg is it worth owt

Cold from me as I sent off my old mobiles and got nothing back. No points no reply.

There are always new members joining, people who have seen it and forgotten about it, those who just don't get round to it and need a gentle nudge, those who have since bought a new mobile and have one spare.
I for one don't mind how many times a deal is posted. It was a hot deal then and still is a good/hot deal.

If the majority are voting COLD (according to the posts, here) then WHO IS pumping up the heat?

And BTW UNHAPPYBUNNY, as mentioned 'you're' is an abbreviation for 'You Are'!
'Your' phone is the correct usage. No apostrophe necessary.

I've sent 2 phones to Tescos, & they reckon they've never received them!

Agree with this 100% Cex are indeed rubbish. Amazing that they actually find people to by their overpriced stuff.

I gave them a try - sent in a phone worth a £10 two weeks ago. Got a email today saying they have received the phone and will be sending my gift voucher to me within 14 days. Bit slow, but seems like a good deal to me. Should probably send in a high value phone by Special Delivery however, as the envelope is a little on the small side.
I think the voucher they will send can be used at Tesco Direct as well, so it doesn't have to be used on groceries.

edit/
You actually get sent a envelope from tesco if you go the website - which has a barcode to link the phone to you. Maybe a little more reliable way of sending the phone in, rather than writing your details and hoping they input them correctly?
