From Monday Britain's biggest retailer will offer a better deal to its 15 million Clubcard holders. Not really a deal though, this should be in misc.

Funny that, I found out today that Tesco are going to announce something special on Monday, and to keep a eye on the press for a announcement on Monday, but they could not speak about it today...

This is what it must be... Fair enough..

Don't fully understand it yet but it looks like you will still only get 1 point per £ of shopping but can double up the points and receive extra savings at different bits of the store.

I'm confused, so if i've got £30 worth of vouchers on my fridge i'll be able to buy £60 worth of stuff?

Or i'll get double points on all future purchases?

With £30 of vouchers you will be able to buy £60 worth of stuff from certain sections in store.

At the moment if you use your vouchers at the Tesco wine club they are worth double the value on the voucher. ie £10 voucher = £10 in-store, £20 Wine Club or £40 Clubcard deals. Think this means it wil be expanded to in-store, but only on non food items.

better than previously but i will only continue to use mine for deals i think

"Customers can exchange every £5 of their normal Clubcard vouchers for a £10 double up rewards token to be used in specific departments. These are…

• In-store: Clothing; Toys; Baby & Toddler; Flowers, plants & gardening; Tesco Mobile airtime; Wine & Champagne; Cosmetics, skincare & fragrance; Instant Issuance travel insurance. These categories will be reviewed and can change over time

• Online (Tesco Direct & Wine by the case): Toys; Baby & Toddler; Flowers, plants & gardening; Tesco Mobile top ups; Wine & Champagne. These categories may change over time "

I only use mine for RAC membership each year, but good if your a wineo selling make-up in the local kiddies creche I suppose!!

This isn't too bad as the alleged 4X value on deals often works out about 3X in reality due to having to ring up and use the vouchers rather than get discounted prices online.

Sorry but this isn't a deal?

But I am going to leave heat and rep (and eat my own words) simply because I can talk about this in my upcoming exam on Monday when I talk about Customer Relationship Managment - so thank you!

waiting

Thanks for the heads-up mate.

heat and rep added, good info..

for ..... ???

If this is true, it would seem like a good deal.

Basically 2% cashback now, because everybody will eventually buy beauty products, clothing, wine, stationary, etc... or whatever is included.

good idea..
i will use this too for my exam :-D

but at the end of the day the profit margins on those sections (eg clothing) are probably really high. so the only person that really wins is Tesco....

RAC/AA membership is pants, with or without a deal.

I went into Tesco a couple of days ago and saw that they had a special offer on some energy saving lightbulbs... buy 4 for £1.96. Picked four up and put them in my basket. Wasn't paying attention at checkout and it was only after I'd paid I took a look at the receipt to see that they had charged me £2 for each lightbulb!

Went to customer service who after a few minutes of checking refunded me double the difference... so basically they paid me £12.08 to take those lightbulbs off them.

It was late and I was on my way back from work so my mind wasn't working properly otherwise I would have gone back and bought all the lightbulbs they had before going to customer service for my refund. Of course it was too late after I had told them about it as they had pulled all the "special offer" tags when they went to check up on it

What exactly IS included then?.. so that we can ALL 'shop' like Alan Sugar at secret 'discount' Tesco departments of down-pricing (at-our-timing-will!).. WOW 50% more expensive before?!

define the length ... peice of string (vs) peace of string (+/-) 50%!!

I can also confirm this, there is a magazine in work telling staff about the new Clubcard vouchers.

There will be new clubcard desks setup at around 200 of the biggest stores where you will be able to exchange your vouchers for double up ones on departments around the store. Electrical, Garden, Clothing etc. I think vouchers have to be in multiples of £5.
Smaller stores will use customer service desk as a point to exchange your vouchers. Express stores will be excluded.
Not really excited by this, I use my points on days out, hopefully with the relaunch though we will see more opportunitys to collect points in the first place. Afterall, douvble up deals are worthless if theres no waay to get points in the fiorst place.

Will we still get 4 X value in deals as we do now ?
Why is there nothing on the Tesco Clubcard website.
Suppose will have to wait until Monday.

Has anyone else noticed that special offer vouchers that used to be issued at the tills offering money off or extra points are no longer being issued? I could never understand anyone using Clubcard vouchers instore. Much better vaule if used on other companies offers. I got years Merlin Entertainment card for just £31.50 worth of vouchers. Direct from Merlin would have been £150.

Good spot.

strictly, I agree but i wouldnt have noticed this had in been in Misc along with the 99% of the other junk in that section.

Mind you, I;m sure tescos will write to every clubcard member to tell them anyway

I'll still use mine just for deals (e.g £13 vouchers = an mot at nationwide autocentres :-D)

Haven't had one in ages. Today I got a 75 point WYS £5 on frozen food.

Aye; I got one yesterday for £1 off a £5+ spend on toiletries. I, too, think this was my first for some time.

Same here - and then I got a 200 points for a £10 toiletries spend and a 150 for a £6 frozen food spend this week!

Always use my vouchers on deals - we have 3 magazine subscriptions, RAC membership, days out, holidays and this month I got the Hallmark Cards card studio DVD rom that I had wanted but couldn't find for less than £28.99 for £7.50 in vouchers so I was happy!

"Every little helps"

Looks like vouchers have made a welcome return. Will be doing weekly shop in Tesco tomorrow, hope I get a few vouchers. The ones I used to like gave 250 points for spending £12.50 on mens clothing. By using on deals were worth £10 so clothing only cost £2.50...sweet.

Are you joking? If you breakdown at home and have to call for help they send a garage but only reimburse you a total of £65, so if the garage charges you £100, you pay £35 out of your own pocket!! You've got to pay the bill and then they decide to pay you back, I don't think so!!

I personally have to pay out £0.00 for full RAC per year with clubcard points, so how can it be cheaper?

Will this mean the disappearance of the x4 value on deals though??????? Give with one hand so you don't notice them taking with the other - cynical I know! But not unheard of...

4 x deals will stay

This was posted last August, but nothing came of it!! The op seems to have been gone for a while now as well!!

I have about £300 worth of these... I hope it works on existing vouchers.

Yes it will.

You can just take them in to tesco when want to use them on instore/.com deals and the staff there will exchange them for the "double up" voucher.
This was trialed at the start of the year with tesco staff just on clothing.

Not a good deal. Tesco's still very expensive compared to the other supermarkets. A slight improvement to the Clubcard scheme is no use at all. What we really want is for Tesco's to CUT PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
