IDIOT, you heated up a toastie & steam came out.....Dont return it" swap it for some magic beans.
now for a real comment.: i paid roughly the same price for this toaster 4 years ago and still works perfectley well. allthough i did scratch the non stick surface on the heater plate with a knife, butt that"s just my own fault by heating toasties whilst pi$$£d.

I own one of these, can't remember how much it cost but it definitely wasn't a fiver... it's not used much but it serves it purpose and I'd be snapping it up for a fiver!

Is there any other time for heating toasties?

Definition of cretin from OED.
noun
1a stupid person (used as a general term of abuse). i.e. Person who warms up food and is surprised by the production of heat.

Don't buy a kettle whatever you do.

Locko

I'd (as in I would) if I didn't have one.

Don't want one of these if it gets hot. I bought a George Foreman grill, and that gets hot too, so I'm afraid to use it. (_;)

Being serious now though, can't really go wrong for a fiver. Would give you some heat, but might burn myself!

EDIT: just got an adult (aka the wife) to help me heat this deal.

??
Why don't you use your GF grill for toasties... much easier and does more than toast sandwiches...:)

Like most things, you only get what you pay for. We had one of these and they're rubbish. The centre area of the toastie was always pale and not very well cooked, even a bit soggy depending on what you put in the toastie (usually heinz baked beans in my case).

Ended up paying nearly 30 quid for a decent one in the end

Seeing as this is quite hot. I thought I would mention that they have 4 slice sandwich makers in Wilkos for £5 as well.

OOS online but this is the one - Should be in stock instore.

These were not available in store for a £5 when I went today but were priced at £10. Instead I picked up the Everyday Value one for just shy of £6. It was all white instead of black and silver, but apart from that I think it's the same.

I'm not expecting much, but I guess for just over fiver it's worth a gamble.

Just found my receipt for this, it was only £7 lmao thought we'd paid more than that.

That's why I'm not allowed in the kitchen much - no imagination. Thanks for the tip.
