Rubbish. This is Great Britain. The centre of the world. How dare they. We'll send a Gun boat and sort them out.

So Tesco themselves are not selling them, Box are?
Wow good to see them sold in a high street retailer
Edit: ah it's via Box

Give my reaction when I know which phones good sir!
Not from tesco the seller is box like other stores like laptopdirect and other UK online stores that sell xiaomi. They have been selling them for a while now.

Duty, vat, warranty. 3rd party seller, Tesco don't stock them.
Hmmm...
Think I'll stick to gearbest,

Bit weird considering MIUI is still missing the UK from its location selector.

Even when Xiaomi (inevitably) launch here, I will probably order them from China still, depending on the price they officially sell here at. Will be great to have a choice plus when they are officially launched here, it will be easier to get them repaired by your local phone shop, not that any of the ones in my immediate family (currently running at 8 in total) have ever gone wrong...)

I agree, I can't see an official launch in the UK. At least not any time soon. Anyway, I get the feeling that if they did launch, they would be nearer High Street prices and not the bargains they are now.

My Redmi Note 4 has been on UK location since before Christmas.
As previously said.
Look at the prices in Spain where xiaomi have officially launched and sell directly compared 3rd party sellers from China.
Even with 3rd party sellers taking their commission it's much cheaper.

The UK is a tiny Market? . It’s one of the top 5 tech markets in the world. It’s the 3rd biggest for Apple products after the US and China.

Hmm, no UK option on mine. Just updated to Miui 9.5 something or other too.

Still setup as India for me.

I think it had to be there in the first place. I'm only on MIUI 9 as I've not had the update yet, but it was there when I flashed the global rom over the Chinese one. I'm on UK now.

Great find op keep up the good work... .
Good phones although this isn't a deal. Xiaomi I believe now have a presence in Spain so are creeping slowly into Europe. Set to south Africa if you don't have UK option just yet, same time zone.

Debenhams Plus is actually supplied and operated by Buyitdirect group who own Laptops Direct, Appliance Direct
buyitdirect.co.uk/

I suspect Debenhams have very little to do with their Debenhams Plus operation

Until you compare it to the market size in China, then it's tiny, they also sell into India another huge market. And all with no changes needed to the hardware. It's all down to the cost/benefit.

How do you explain them launching in Spain then? A much smaller market than the UK.

If you go directly to the Box website you can get the same phone for £119.99!

What's going on?

I used mine without SIM (as a pocket tablet) for several months and also missed the UK setting; I changed network and received the micro-SIM from the new provider, put that in an the UK setting appeared.

Thank you. No sign of UK on mine either. Bought mine ready flashed via eBay, but don't think they did such a good job as you! My battery drains very quickly too. Apart from that love the phone.
Now set to South Africa.
Thanks all 🌟🌟 xx

As long as it works as it should, it doesn't really matter. The region setting doesn't change a lot anyway.

The UK wasn't on my last phone, a Xiaomi Mi5. I have Mi Note 3 now, which came with the Chinese rom and only had China in the regions. After flashing the global rom via recovery, playstore was there etc, but still only China in the regions. After unlocking the bootloader, I flashed the global rom again but this time via fastboot and ticked the wipe all box. After this, I have many regions including the UK.
