I'd second that as well, we've also got one of these, it's okay but seems a bit slow to get really hot, but would happily replace this with a crockpot when it eventually dies on us..

Sure to be made by either Morphy Richards or one of the others! Tesco don't make anything.

ours works fine since bought last week at this price wigan tesco. stuff in in the morning and its done by 5ish. worth 8 quid.

Mine is on now with meat and potato pie filling great for the money and I tend to put in on high for an hour if i'm in to warm up as it definitely doesn't get hot as quick as my crockpot brand one does. Better for when you're out at work all day though as my crockpot does stick a bit and burn to edges but this is great all day. Oops just seen I'm on my hubby's account!

we have one, you need to double the time spent cooking stuff in this in comparison to others we've had this is ssslllloooowww!!!

I've had one of these for 3 years.. Brilliant... No complaints!

Found and bought in Plymouth too

Nationwide till the 8th been on since boxing day, mines been great, only use till long term i.e 9-5pm works great.

This model is slightly different from the one they used to sell for £10...... its a bit smaller at 3L instead of 3.3L and it has a higher wattage on low and high.

Bournemouth Extra have these also.

way cheaper than the one I was gonna buy in sains.

BONUS!

Same here, works fine for me. Spicy pulled pork, hotpot, caseroles all cook no problem in it. Have read in the past that slow cookers work best 3/4 full, maybe people who have had problems with them are filling them too full

I have just bought one and am going to try to hack it to a thermostatically controlled water bath for sous vide cooking... At least at this price if it doesn't work, I won't have lost much :-)

I've just replaced my old 8 year old Cookworks with this and I'm very pleased! Plenty left in Tesco Stockport. I also treated myself to the 200 slow cooker recipe book from Amazon for £3.50, all set for a frugal January!!

I'm vegetarian - is there much point in me using one of these? Mum used to make gorgeous meat dishes in one but never remember her making anything veggie...

I don't know where I would be without my slow cooker. I love making joints of meat and stew in it at winter time. Great when you are out working all day. Heat added.

You can also have it delivered with your groceries. I bought one for my mother as a late christmas present. Note this £8 model is higher wattage than the older model. Its 180W instead of 160W (from memory) but the main switch is a fair bit cheaper and not as solid or precise in operation. Not terrible just noticably worse.

Bought one of these.. Still to use it tho x

I use one of these for mulled wine. Perfect.

At this price, I think I'll get another.

Cheers, OP

deal cooked, I mean heated.

bargain, had one since last summer, paid £12 and happy with that. cooks the best joints / poultry ever.

Can't go wrong. I bought this one (I think it was about £20), and is probably the best used kitchen gadget ever bought!

Glad it's not just me. Bought a 6.5L from Argos for £17. Tried to make broth and 6 hours later the carrots were still hard as rock and the boiling water they state must be used was now only luke warm. If that is the best its high setting can do, I don't want to think what warm or low is like!

We're in colchester and Ipswich stores also deep fat fryers for £10

expies on the sel tonight

squillion

there is if you like soups and stews and especially if you are out at work all day. There's a slow cooker thread somewhere on MSE with a gazillion recipes including jacket potatoes.
