Tesco have just opened a new store at Northcott,Newtownabbey Northern Ireland. Unleaded petrol £1.30 per litre.

Bound to be for a limited time and bound to be store specific but might help someone.

Was £1.29 in Carrickfergus on Friday. Also £1.30 in Whitehead.

just got back from Egypt where I was amazed that petrol was 18p a litre. Makes a bit of a mockery of the claim that the petrol costs 40p per litre to produce. Pretty sure Egypt doesnt have any oilfields!

Egypt spends around $12 billion a year subsidising their fuel.

Actually they have quite a few in the gulf of suez and in the desert to the west (and more recently in Sinai) and produce quite a lot of oil (just uder half of that of the UK) and gas. In fact they produce more gas than they consume and export quite a lot to neighbouring countries.

Cheers for the info. Explains it all.

Bought Shell unleaded yesterday at £1.29 per litre and I get about 20 to 30 miles extra per gallon ( 50cc scooter ) compared to using other brands.
